    Good Talk

Pete Wilson is the former pastor of one of the fastest growing churches in the country, but life took a drastic turn when he went through personal burnout and a divorce. Armed with a new awareness that failure is not final and that unconditional love can melt away destructive shame, he’s discovering the beauty and purpose of life again. He has remarried and is now partnering with his wife, Jordyn, for this new podcast. Good Talk exists to help people take their mind off the temporary and heavy, and remind them of the joy of life, the love of God, and the possibilities that lie ahead. If you’re interested in living a more meaningful life but you don’t really know where to start or maybe you’re interested in spirituality but you’ve been burned or feel intimated by traditional religion, then this podcast is for you. Each week Pete and Jordyn will share some amazing stories and introduce you to some inspiring people. They’ll share what they’re struggling with (even when it’s not pretty), challenge us to rethink some religious misconceptions we’ve held onto, and give us some practical strategies to live the life we’ve been created to live.

It's Ok to Not Be Ok Jun 22, 2021
    Show notes

The phrase, "It's Ok to Not Be Ok" has been a buzz phrase lately...but how many people actually believe that? We say it because it sounds noble and sounds like the right the thing to say, but few people actually believe it (both for themselves and for others). In weak moments, we rather point fingers instead of offer a hug and an ear. We're talking about how to better embody this concept so we can start to live more compassionate lives.

    5 Ways to Know It's Time for a Transition Jun 15, 2021
    Show notes

If you're in a season where you feel stuck or feel like you need to be pushed to make a leap in your life, this episode is for you. So many of us stay in situations for too long because we're comfortable, or maybe we're just scared to risk what the change may entail. But we are meant to live purposeful, fulfilled lives. Maybe it's a relationship, a job, or something else keeping you in idle mode. It's time to shift gears.

    It Wasn't Me Jun 08, 2021
    Show notes

Do you know anyone who just can't seem to take ownership of something? Or maybe you are currently struggling with taking ownership in a certain situation. You're caught up in the blame game and it's killing you. 9 times out of 10, if something went south in our lives, there's likely something we can own, regardless if we were the main person "in the wrong." In this episode, we're talking about how we need to stop blaming others for our circumstances, and finally take ownership over our lives and simply release what it is that is holding us back.

What Forgiveness Is Not Jun 01, 2021
    Show notes

Many of us wrestle with forgiveness in some way, shape or form. We are faced with decisions throughout our lives that invite either forgiveness or grudges; release or bitterness. And while we think somehow not forgiving those who have hurt us is punishing them for what they did, it's actually punishing you and limiting your own freedom. Let's talk about what forgiveness is not, and what it really means, and how you can live a more free life.

Does It Really Deserve Your Reaction? May 25, 2021
    Show notes

While many of us are hyper aware of our physical energy, where it's spent and how we gain more of it, rarely do we focus on our emotional and mental energy. Often, we unknowingly deposit useless emotional energy throughout our day on things that ultimately are undeserving of it. Your mental energy fuels your success and creativity, helps keep relationships healthy, and helps you be your best self. We're talking all about how to be intentional with where you spend your energy and how you can be a better you because of it.

Most of us have an ex of some kind, and if you don't, hold tight - you can apply this conversation to any relationship that has since expired or is no longer what it used to be. We're talking about how to have a healthy thought process and communication dialogue with those we wouldn't consider to be our "best friends." We can still be encouraging, uplifting and positive around those we don't agree with all the time, and the benefits to your soul and joy is limitless.
