Today's Quotes:
"The sound Abba reminds us to remember and praise the Father. It positions us as the child. St. Paul calls it the word of our adoption by God. We need not be concerned with small self wants, a knowing father will provide. Abba is a meditative prayer whose constant, devoted repetition brings us closer to understanding the first commandment. More devotion to that word means less devotion to other words. As all those lesser words fall away, we become aware of a luminous, silent presence. Abba is a word that glides with the inhalation and exhalation of the breath. Its Sanskrit equivalent is Aabbhaa and means to shine, irradiate, blaze, appear and become visible. It is a word that invokes the light. Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.” Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” - Luke 11 (2:4)
-McDermott, Brian. Hidden in Plain Sight—The Mantra of Jesus Christ
"The use of the Lord’s name, the informal loving form of Father, simplifies us back to children. We sit with one word to solve all problems. He who has the name as his only word of concern becomes simple in outlook and penetrating in mind—a child of the Kingdom."
-McDermott, Brian. Hidden in Plain Sight—The Mantra of Jesus Christ
"Sit down, recollect your spirit, introduce it—I mean your spirit—into your nostrils; that is the route your breath takes to reach the heart. Pull it in so to force it to descend to your heart at the same time as the air is breathed in. When it is there, you will see the joy that follows; you will have nothing to regret. Just as the one who returns home after an absence can no longer contain the joy at being able to see spouse and children again, so the spirit when it is united to the soul overflows with joy and ineffable delight."
-Reho, James Hughes. Tantric Jesus: The Erotic Heart of Early Christianity (pp. 181-182). Inner Traditions/Bear & Company. Kindle Edition.

You Aren't Called to Church, You're Called to be a Church Aug 30, 2022

Show notes

You were promised God's Name,
but can you make the promise today to walk in that Name?
Hearing It, feeling It in each step?
Remembering that no matter which Name you're calling,
It's only guiding you back to the real Name...
which is YOUR Name-
His Presence,
His Church,
Your Shelter,
Your Home.
Welcome back,

- Hafiz
"The Kingdom of God is spread upon the earth, and men do not see it.'* The Kingdom isn't far away. The Kingdom is right here and right now. The challenge of Jesus' message is that it constantly asks of us: Can you see it? Can you see the Kingdom right now? Right in the midst of this very moment in the midst of this very life that often seems mundane and ordinary-- can you see eternity? Have you allowed yourself and your world to be rendered transparent to the underlying divinity that shines through it?
- from Adyashanti's, 'Resurrecting Jesus'

Meditate Like Oprah & Maya Angelou - Become a Quiet Vessel #GMweekends Aug 28, 2022

Show notes

Today, I want you to prioritize the Silence. Make yourself the ‘quiet vessel’ and ‘get out of your own way’, so that you may hear the feeling of Love and unfold Its unique path for you. Take 5-10 minutes today to sit on the charger :) You got the juice!
Click this LINK for info about Maya Angelou's meditation practice, and more info about Oprah Winfrey's first introduction to spirituality through Eric Butterworth! There's also a link in there to the 6 minute meditation I referred to!

Today's Quotes:
Today's Quotes: "When we plug the battery into the charger, it doesn't chatter away about how much it needs charging... it simply and quietly accepts the inflow of energy. And when we pray, Jesus is telling us, we should get into the depths of our being, and shut out the concerns of the world, and "pray to the Father in secret".
As we grow in understanding of the Truth of our relationship with God, as we begin to see ourselves in the light of our divinity, prayer becomes an experience in the silent. We put the words of entreaty, of supplication, even of adoration behind us. Our heart speaks in the language of the soul. We praise God through our feeling of gratitude. We worship through our spirit of reverence. We ask for help through our receptive mind and heart. We affirm the Truth of being by meditating quietly upon it."
-Eric Butterworth, excerpt from 'Discover the Power Within You: A Guide to the Unexplored Depths Within'
"A true Christian is a true Hindu, and a true Hindu is a true Christian." - Swami Vivekananda
“Along this path of knowledge, I find that prayer and meditation are elemental. Guidance comes from those practices. Sometimes in meditation one really tries to think of nothing. I do, anyway. I try not to have any focus or use any focus to get away from everything. I try to make myself a quiet vessel, a quiet pool where ideas can rise."
- Maya Angelou

The Kingdom Isn't Far Away #GMweekends Aug 27, 2022

Show notes

Take a few moments to notice that when you're not blinking, you're not thinking. And notice what you FEEL in that pause. Love. Become a transparency for that Love to shine through, for the Kingdom to reach out and through and touch others. Text someone a message of gratitude, today. Be Love, today, and remember that the Kingdom is not only where you reside, It's what you are.

Eyes Fixed. Love Focused. Aug 26, 2022

Show notes

When you're hearing your mantra, you're Love Focused.
When you're hearing the silence, you're Love Focused.
When you're seeing the space surrounding the objects, you're Love Focused.
When you're seeing and feeling God where you see people, you're Loved Focused.
Rumi said concentrate on the Essence,
concentrate on the Light.
Eyes fixed on the Love, on the Soul--
when you're eyes are fixed Here,
the future fixes itself.

Inevitable Grace Aug 25, 2022

Show notes

Warmed by the Light of God, fed by the Ground of BEing,
your life has been brought to blossoming.
And as you stay here, rooted in Love, swaying in Grace,
you make the inevitable transition from being a 'hearer of the word, to a doer of the word'.
From flowering, to fruiting.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: “For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was."

"it is possible for anyone to change the trend of his life, not by hearing or reading truth, but by making it an active part of his consciousness in daily experience, until it becomes a habit every moment of the day, instead of an occasional thought. Let these principles operate in consciousness morning, noon, and night, until gradually the actual awareness comes. Then we make the transition from being hearers of the Word to being doers of the Word. Then we shall be abiding in the Word and shall bear fruit richly."

"The Lord is on my head like a crown, and I shall not be without him.

But Thou livest upon my head, and Thou hast blossomed upon me.
Thy fruits are full-grown and perfect; they are full of Thy salvation. Alleluia."

When you forget to hear Silence, you hear thoughts. Aug 24, 2022

Show notes

Every time you leave the Silence for too long now, you get Homesick.
Homesick looks like anger, it looks like stress, it looks like fatigue.
And even as you experience the fatigue, you listen again for the Lover's voice.
And you remember that where the fatigue appears to be only Rest is,
only Perfection is.
When you forget to hear Silence, you hear thoughts--
thoughts that tell you that you're tired, that you've still got a long way to go...
when you're really Home, already.
You're always Home.

The Day Before Everything Changes, Everything Seems the Same Aug 22, 2022

Show notes

You think you're sitting in that familiar room,
but you're really sitting in the blessing.
Even as you see the same stuff, you're not disheartened by it.
You're not fooled by it.
You're led by it,
to the Energy behind it that creates new rooms.
To that Energy that keeps you praying,
keeps you believing,
keeps you trusting and remembering,
that God is in you and you are in God,
and nothing is impossible here.
Nothing is the same.
You've arrived,
so act like It.

Meditation adapted from Robert Adams
"The day before everything changes, everything seems the same. Keep praying, keep believing, keep hoping, keep trusting, keep praising."
-@Rock_solid_ministries_intl via IG
"You're doing everything right. You're loving yourself more, you're increasing your gratitude, you're restoring your faith; there isn't a single part of your soul you haven't nurtured, recovered, and healed. Don't let your mind convince you that you're not where you're supposed to be: you're inside the blessing. Ground your current energy so deeply in this moment that your past self has no choice but to walk away. Having the ability to grow and be at peace in the same environment that tested you is why your magic is just different. You're invincible. Drown out the noise of negative energies and tune into the soft melody of your intuition. The Universe always has the final word."
