The Standards of Black Love ft. Meagan Good Mar 18, 2021
    Show notes

What is Black love? In this episode, we're breaking it all the way down, from our Black couple goals to how vulnerability and sexuality play into what it’s like to love and be loved. We open up about dating as a Black woman, the love lessons from our parents, and what makes a good relationship work. Then, we get into it with the one and only Meagan Good, who's spent much of her career telling Black love stories, and has so many stories of her own she's now ready to tell. She shares some gems about being a woman of faith in Hollywood, getting over people not loving your energy, and how she came back to herself after a skin-lightening experience that changed her life.

A year into this pon de’ replay we’re examining self-love and how we’re taking care of our own needs even if it seems…selfish. Our sisters share the ways they are good to themselves but how it can get challenging thanks to forces like social media. In talking with the self-love queen herself, Jill Scott shares the favorite parts of herself and the simple practices she uses to love upon mind and body. And like a true big sis, she’s giving us the advice she’d give her 15-year-old self while schooling us on why it’s important we take our time when it comes to love.

Changing The Game ft. Chiney Ogwumike Oct 13, 2020
    Show notes

While sports are vital to most college experiences, HBCUs generally put the actual game at the bottom of the Homecoming list. But, as more of our top athletes commit to Black colleges and Universities and social justice conversations play out on and off the court, it's time to dive into the link between sports culture and Black culture today. We’re talking about what it means to be Black in sports, why Black women seem to be left behind even though we are always first, and how we set ourselves up for success after the stadium lights turn down.
