Join them as they cruise through their favorite moments, debate why it’s time to dock the royal storylines, and share which characters they’d love to see take center stage in a romantic adventure. Email us your review at girlsgonehallmark@gmail.com or let's talk about it in the Girls Gone Hallmark Facebook Group! We Need Your 5-STAR Ratings and Reviews Spotify Podcast listeners: Spotify allows listeners to rate podcast episodes. Once you listen to a podcast for at least 30 seconds, you get the option to rate it between one and five stars. Return to the podcast’s main page and tap the star icon. Then, tap submit. About Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway - (Hallmark+, 2024) See even more here about the Love on the Danube collection of movies! Norma Bailey directed Royal Getaway. Norma has 65 directing credits, including two episodes of The Way Home for Hallmark. Her additional directing credits include: Superman and Lois, Spinning Out, Anne with an E, Reign, and Outlander. Aubrey Day wrote the script for Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway. Aubrey has two writing credits. His second credit is The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango. Dan Jeannotte stars as Joe. In addition to his role as Ryan/"Pinstripe" on The Bold Type, he has appeared in nine Hallmark movies, plus The Good Witch series, for a total of 43 acting credits. He will appear in All I Need for Christmas this Countdown to Christmas season. He also appeared on the series Reign, a series for which Norma Bailey directed a couple of episodes. Jessica Sipos plays Ava. Jessica has 25 acting credits, which include 38 episodes of Chesapeake Shores, Betty’s Bad Luck in Love, and a role in Soccer Mom Madam, which also stars Girls Gone Hallmark fave: Matty Finochio. Catherine Disher, Mark Holden, and Katherine Drysdale all return in their roles as Betty, Captain Magnusson, and Teddy, respectively. Steven Pacey plays butler/valet Reynolds. This is Steven’s first appearance on Hallmark. His past roles include House of the Dragon, Return to House on Haunted Hill, and the TV series adaptation of The Flatshare. Chay Faraday Browne plays Tobias. Chay has 7 acting credits, including the series Right Swipe and The Surveyor. Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway was filmed on location in Budapest. Our Thoughts on Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway What We Liked Dynamic Duo:We enjoyed the chemistry between Dan Jeanotte (Joe) and Jessica Sipos (Ava). Dan consistently brings charm to his roles, and Jessica's energy was palpable. Their interactions felt genuine, contributing to the movie’s overall emotional appeal. Supporting Cast:Catherine Disher's presence was a definite plus. She’s the kind of character you’d want on your cruise — exuding wisdom and charm. Moreover, her scenes with Steven Pacey's Reynolds hinted at a compelling subplot that we wish had more screen time. Scenic Locations:The movie’s on-location shoots were visually stunning. Budapest’s beautiful landmarks and the vibrant European backdrops significantly elevated the movie. Visually, it felt more genuine and less reliant on the cliché Hallmark sets. Animated Intro:The custom animated intro for the movie was a delightful touch. It added a unique flavor and set a charming tone before delving into the story. What We Wished For Plot Predictability:While enjoyable, the movie followed the well-worn Hallmark formula a bit too closely, making it painfully predictable at times. The fake royal trope is getting tiresome, and we long for some fresh storylines in future films. More Cruise Content:For a movie centered around a cruise, there was surprisingly little "boat stuff." We hoped for more scenes showing the cruise experience, which felt sidelined in favor of land-based storytelling.

The Heiress and the Handyman Sep 19, 2024

Plus, you won’t want to miss their hilarious take on the Dollar Tree decor—and why on earth Corey Sevier seemed to be in charge of redecorating the dead aunt’s house! Check out what we thought about The Jane Mysteries: A Deadly Prescription Email us your review at girlsgonehallmark@gmail.com or let's talk about it in the Girls Gone Hallmark Facebook Group! Once you listen to a podcast for at least 30 seconds, you get the option to rate it between one and five stars. Return to the podcast’s main page and tap the star icon. Then, tap submit. About The Heiress and the Handyman - (Hallmark Channel, 2024) Marco Deufemia directed The Heiress and the Handyman. Marco has 25 directing credits including the recent Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery. Marco directed the first installment of The Jane Mysteries and directs the next three movies in the series. Paula Tiberius wrote the script for The Heiress and The Handyman. Paula has 11 writing credits which includes Christmas in Big Sky Country, also directed by Marco Deufemia. She is the writer for The Jane Mysteries: Murder at Moseby. Jodie Sweetin plays the Heiress, June. Jodie has 35 acting credits and is of course known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on both Full House and Fuller House. She stars in The Jane Mysteries series and served as a producer on this movie as well as all of The Jane Mysteries movies. Corey Sevier, who stole our hearts on Noel Next Door, plays Bart Hudson. Watch the Trailer for The Heiress and the Handyman Our Thoughts on The Heiress and the Handyman For a comprehensive review, be sure to tune into our podcast episode where we dive deep into all the details. First Impression Our first impression of The Heiress and the Handyman? Well, the Dollar Tree fall decor was the only clue indicating this was a fall movie. Additionally, we were puzzled by the character June’s wig, which became a constant distraction throughout the film. What We Liked There were a few things we appreciated: Corey Sevier and Jodie Sweetin: Both actors delivered solid performances given the material they were handed. Their individual talents helped keep the movie afloat. Community Theme: One of the elements we enjoyed was how June, played by Jodie Sweetin, found a sense of community and family in the small town. Despite her initial struggles, she began to immerse herself in her new surroundings, which was a redeeming aspect of the storyline. Fall Vibes Attempt: At least the film made some effort to provide fall vibes with a festival, pie contest, and some fall foliage B-roll shots. While not the most convincing, it was better than no attempt at all. What We Wished For Several aspects of the movie left much to be desired: Character Depth: Rich is not a personality trait, and unfortunately, June was portrayed as a very one-dimensional character. We learnt about her lavish lifestyle, but not enough about who she really was. Romance Between Bart and June: The romance felt forced and lacked substance. Key Events of Episode 2 - The Chicken Sisters The Franny's Girl vs. Mimi's Girl Narrative The episode begins highlighting the traditional rivalry between Franny's and Mimi's. We see how being a Franny's girl signifies being on the "right" side while being a Mimi's girl denotes the opposite. This rivalry not only introduces tension but offers depth to the backstories of characters like Nancy and Gus. Nancy and Frank Jr.'s Dynamic Nancy struggles with her identity after the loss of her husband, Frank. It’s heartbreaking to witness how Frank Jr. treats her, mirroring behaviors that might have been modeled by his father. The episode delves deeper into Nancy's past, showing her sacrifices and longing for validation from her son. The Sabrina and Amanda Facade Sabrina, a master manipulator, manipulates Amanda into revealing sensitive information about Mae’s past working at Donkey’s. Once you listen to a podcast for at least 30 seconds, you get the option to rate it between one and five stars. Return to the podcast’s main page and tap the star icon. Then, tap submit. About The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening - (Hallmark Mystery, 2024) Mike Rohl directed. With 63 directing credits, Rohl has directed several episodes of When Calls the Heart, two episodes of Signed, Sealed, Delivered, as well as the first installment of The Cases of Mystery Lane. Joel Dovev & Margaux Froley are the husband/wife writing team behind The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening. Joel Dovev has just three writing credits: these two movies, as well as a short called Bruce. IMDb also lists he is a writer on a project in development, and all it says is “Untitled Ashley Williams Kimberley Sustad Project.” Also noteworthy, Dovev was an assistant producer on the recent Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard. Margaux Froley has six writing credits, including the Cases movies, a Lifetime movie called Let’s Get Physical with Jenna Dewan, as well as an episode of a 2008 series called Privileged, which starred JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Lucy Hale, and Ashley Newbrough. He will also reprise his role as Stephan in Three Wiser Men and a Boy this holiday season. Matt Hamilton returns as Officer ‘Air Quotes’ Newton. Hamilton has 62 acting credits, with three non-Hallmark projects in production. He was last seen in A World Record Christmas during last year’s Countdown to Christmas. Fans in the GGH FB group are calling for Matt to step into a lead Hallmark role. Meghan Heffern plays Birdie’s old friend Kristen. Heffern has 69 acting credits, with roles in Betty’s Bad Luck in Love and Retreat to You. She will be seen next in Autumn at Apple Hill. Samantha Ferris plays podcaster Laurel St. James. What We Liked The Cast's Performances: Stephen Huszar as Detective John Cameron: Stephen brought a serious and business-like demeanor to his role, which suited the mystery genre better than his previous romantic leads. Jodie Sweetin as Jane DaSilva: Although we were not always convinced by her performance, she definitely found a niche in this series. We appreciated seeing her take on a more dramatic role. Paris Jefferson as Aunt Sadie: We absolutely loved Aunt Sadie's wardrobe and her quirky lines that gave the movie some light-hearted moments. The Initial Plot: The introduction of the suspects and the murder board added an intriguing layer to the mystery. The breakdown of their motives and the visual representation on the murder board was highly engaging. Jodi Sweetin's Singing: We were delightfully surprised by her singing voice, featured in both the opening and end credits of the movie. What We Wished For Character Development for Detective John: We felt that John needed more depth.
