E20: The Snedeker family moved into a former funeral home and allegedly experienced a horrific haunting. According to the Warrens, this haunting was due to a terrible incident that took place in the past and demons were at play. This story inspired the writing of the book “In a Dark Place: The Story of a True Haunting” by Ray Garton and eventually inspired the movie “The Haunting in Connecticut”. However, Garton came forward with a startling confession about the truth behind this story, and an alleged darker side of the Warrens was exposed.
As a bonus, Ivy also goes over “The Devil Made Me Do It” case which involved a murderer, Arne “Cheyenne” Johnson, who’s plea was that they were possessed by a demon when committing the crime, with the Warrens giving him their support. This story has many parallels with the story of the Snedeker family, and inspired the movie “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” that came out in 2021. These two cases, in the opinions of this podcasts hosts, help to showcase a known pattern and cycle used by the Warrens.
