    NXT, AEW: TakeOver builds, Dynamite rebounds, Beach Break preview Jan 28, 2021
    Show notes

    AEW bounced back with a strong episode of Dynamite in its go-home effort ahead of Beach Break, while NXT bounced around as it continues to build toward its next TakeOver. Host Adam Silverstein dives into the latest from both shows, starting with NXT's strange decision to have two contenders for each of its three main titles held by Finn Balor, Io Shirai and Johnny Gargano [3:45]. Plus, updates from the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classics and questions about the direction of Isiah "Swerve" Scott and Santos Escobar. "The Silver King" then moves to AEW [21:00], which put on the two best matches of the night with a six-man Bullet Club main event (featuring a surprise appearance by Jon Moxley) and Jungle Boy vs. Dax Harwood. The Cody Rhodes and Sting storylines were slightly improved albeit still convoluted, but Britt Baker finally got a chance to look strong ahead of a big bout. Plus, a preview of Beach Break next week.     NXT, AEW: Fight Pit rocks, Inner Circle fights, Dusty Rhodes Classics Jan 21, 2021

    The main events of NXT and AEW Dynamite stood out as the clear highlights for both shows as host Adam Silverstein looks at where the brands are heading with key events approaching. Starting with NXT [3:40], "The Silver King" lauds Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa for another strong Fight Pit showing before discussing Pete Dunne's challenge for Finn Balor's NXT title and taking an extensive look at the men's and women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Adam also shouts out Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter, again explaining why their future is bright. Next up, a look at the fun Inner Circle triple threat that main evented an otherwise mediocre-at-best episode of AEW Dynamite [26:48] that included strong development for The Elite storyline but otherwise strange bookings for Jon Moxley and Cody Rhodes along with the never-ending Sting storyline with Darby Allin.     WWE: Card Subject to Change, 'The Fiend' Alexa Bliss controversy Jan 19, 2021

    With two weeks left until the Royal Rumble, host Adam Silverstein and co-host Chris Vannini look at WWE's build to one of its biggest shows of the year and first pay-per-view of 2021.     WWE: Gauntlet match greatness, McIntyre's Royal Rumble status Jan 12, 2021

    NXT New Year's Evil, AEW New Year's Smash analysis Jan 07, 2021

    NXT and AEW started 2021 with a bang by providing two special episodes of their Wednesday night shows. Host Adam Silverstein explains why AEW offered the match of the night, but NXT delivered the better show top-to-bottom with both brands offering early match of the year contenders. "The Silver King" begins with NXT New Year's Evil [5:20], discussing the brutal rematch between Finn Balor and Kyle O'Reilly, a remarkable battle between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Gonzalez and another great showing from Damian Priest, who lifted Karrion Kross. Plus, why we may have seen the last of Ripley and Priest in NXT. Adam then moves to AEW Dynamite's New Year's Smash [30:20] where he raves over Kenny Omega's thrilling showdown with Rey Fenix, Jon Moxley's return, the reformation of the Bullet Club and Wardlow's potential before taking a critical look at the rest of the show.     NJPW WrestleKingdom 15 analysis: Dawn of a new Ace? Jan 06, 2021

    New Japan Pro-Wrestling kicked off 2021 with a bang as WrestleKingdom 15 delivered in a major way over two nights. Host Adam Silverstein breaks down the biggest matches on both shows, starting with the IWGP heavyweight and intercontinental championships being on the line between Tetsuya Naito, Kota Ibushi and Jay White. "The Silver King" believes NJPW's decision to go with Ibushi was the right one and explains why Ibushi -- not Kazuchika Okada -- may be the heir apparent as the company's Ace once Hiroshi Tanahashi retires. Still, Okada and Will Ospreay delivered the best match on both shows with Okada proving to be the best in-ring performer in the world, while White and Ospreay both upped their games on a big stage.     WWE: Ludicrous Goldberg return, Raw Legends Night, Royal Rumble builds Jan 05, 2021

    Happy New Year! Getting Over brings in 2021 with a look at WWE as it begins its route toward its first major pay-per-view of the year, the Royal Rumble. Host Adam Silverstein reacts vociferously to Raw Legends Night, which concluded with the return of Goldberg following a meaty main event between Drew McIntyre and Keith Lee [7:45]. Adam explains why he was so insulted by Goldberg's return storyline and all the ways it went wrong, while co-host Chris Vannini tries to find any positives. The guys then discuss the rest of Raw Legends night and the upcoming build for the Royal Rumble. "The Silver King" and "Vintage" look at an expected Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens rematch [49:10], the attention paid to Randy Orton's character [54:45] and much more [1:00:45], including Big E's future, creating tag teams on SmackDown, the women's division now focusing on tag teams to the detriment of the main titles and WWE's propensity for roll-up finishes.
