Host Adam Silverstein and co-host Chris Vannini open with an extended look at Big E's long-awaited title win, the outpouring of affection for him, WWE's booking of the moment and MITB as a whole, Bobby Lashley's six-month title reign and why WWE actually decided to make the change in this situation [10:00]. AEW All Out fallout, NXT's last black-and-gold show, Gable Steveson signs with WWE Sep 09, 2021
    Show notes

With CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole and Ruby Soho in tow, AEW looked to capitalize on the momentum created at All Out with an eventful episode of Dynamite. Host Adam Silverstein dives into a somewhat-disappointing follow-up to All Out [26:30], including Danielson's first verbal interaction with Kenny Omega, Adam Cole's first promo with The Elite, Ruby injecting some life into the women's division, MJF's show-stealing segment and a Jon Moxley vs. Minoru Suzuki match that failed to live up to even the most modest expectations. "The Silver King" begins this episode with a cold open discussing Gable Steveson's decision to sign with WWE while defending his NCAA heavyweight championship [0:00]. Adam then breaks down the final black-and-gold branded edition of NXT [8:22], including an all-time segment involving Dexter Lumis' bachelor party, two tag team championship matches, a tremendous Ember Moon vs. Kay Lee Ray bout and what the future holds for NXT as a whole. Plus, Getting Over sends well wishes to Paul "Triple H" Levesque [24:15] following a cardiac incident that hospitalized him last week. Follow Getting Over on Twitter @GettingOverCast.

WWE: Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley look unbeatable, but who will go over them? Sep 07, 2021
    Show notes

It was a mixed bag for WWE across SmackDown and Raw this week, though as always, universal champion Roman Reigns and WWE champion Bobby Lashley were booked exceptionally strong. Host Adam Silverstein in The Main Event looks at the dominance of both men, wondering how long they will both hold the titles and whether Finn Balor (perhaps as The Demon?) could be a surprise decision to take the title off Reigns before the end of 2021 [4:55]. "The Silver King" also breaks down the entire Tag Team Turmoil storyline from Raw that delivered in the ring but disappointed with a predictable, repetitive winner. Next up is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly [24:24] where topics include the Seth Rollins vs. Edge rematch, Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair somewhat struggling to win over the crowd, Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax (with help from Shayna Baszler) redeeming themselves, Rhea Ripley helping Nikki A.S.H. get over, and a lot of ugly creative involving unnecessarily short matches and disqualifications. Adam and Chris then break down the rest of the show, including CM Punk's in-ring return after a seven-year absence against Darby Allin, Chris Jericho's overbooked match with MJF, a stellar tag team steel cage match between the Young Bucks and Lucha Bros, Britt Baker's great women's title bout with Kris Statlander, the debut of Ruby Soho, Minoru Suzuki surprising Jon Moxley, and much more. WWE presented a strong episode of SmackDown featuring the first television appearance for Becky Lynch in 15 months, while Raw was reportedly changed just before the show began after a full week of promotion. Host Adam Silverstein and co-host Chris Vannini take a deep dive into both shows as they again wonder how they are made by the same company. The guys open with The Main Event [10:35] as they break down Finn Balor and Edge stepping up as challengers to Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair and Liv Morgan looking strong as Lynch tried to explain her actions at SummerSlam, and a convoluted yet entertaining primary storyline on Raw involving Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Bobby Lashley, MVP and RK-Bro. "The Silver King" and "Vintage" then move into The Good, The Bad and The Ugly [49:10] where topics include Baron Corbin becoming "Happy," a disastrous Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax match, Rick Boogs' sustained push, Naomi's debut on SmackDown, horrendous booking for Karrion Kross and Doudrop, plus much more.
