Show notes
If this one doesn't scare you, you're already dead!
But if you're not, you may as well listen to our brand new episode of They Called This a Movie, as we kick off this year's 31 Days of Horror festivities with a movie that some would call a cult classic.
Graveyard sex, inter-dimensional portals, gangly alien morticians, ice cream men with ponytails, slave labor, tweens driving muscle cars, this movie has it all.
Let us take you back to 1979, when bell bottoms were all the rage, latchkey kids drank malt liquor and shot guns, and you could just pack up and ditch your old life for the open road with a guy named Reg. This week, we're watching Phantasm.
Join us as we head straight into this one, a movie that truly throws everything against the wall to see what sticks. We discuss how every woman in this movie looks exactly the same, Angus Scrimm's walk, and how we feel about the surprise ending.
