Episode 156 – Clones, Closure, and Calls May 19, 2020
    Show notes

This time out we discuss the series finale of the Clone Wars (I'm sure we'll be discussing things for a long time to come.) Steve gets into some other snippets and geeky stuff, and then opens up the phone lines to some friends of the show including Dylan Newhouse, Roth in Wyoming, and ThunderCam Hopman of Big Honkin Show fame! it's an all out blitz featuring great movie moments in cinematic history and a Star Wars lesson by Dave Filoni. All this and more on your safe place to geek out!

    Space Jams? May 18, 2020
    Show notes

Not a movie from the 90's starring the Looney Toons and Michael Jordan, but an episode devoted to songs about space. In honor of May the 4th (the Star Wars pun day) and the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back this week, Rock Out Loud brings you some of the best songs we know about space. Truthfully, Steve tried to avoid obvious ones for the most part. There are e-mails, Steve and Kristin judge (Steve mostly) songs from groups that the listeners like, and the pair go one to have great time listening to some tunes and talking outer space. We hope you enjoy as well!

    Episode 155 – Marathon Episode Part 2 May 18, 2020
    Show notes

Sooooo...Steve (that's me!) forgot to ever post this episode. It includes a great conversation with the great Dave Jones, many other callers discussing a wide variety topics ranging from The Mandalorian to reliving old times, and we wrap it all up with Derek Russell to cap off the show and the marathon in what seems to be shaping into a marathon tradition. Obviously, the time for giving has passed, and unfortunately we did not meet our goal this year, but we did raise over $3400 and we are thankful to everyone who participated in giving. We look forward to next year's marathon when we will hopefully meet and exceed our goal!

We Were Gonna Title It Doctors (plural) Feelgood Apr 29, 2020

Kristin and Steve are back with a show put together just to have some fun and help you feel good. We hope this show will help put a smile on your face, a dance in your step, and maybe you can put these songs together and DJ your own party right where you are. We took suggestions from YOU for this episode and had a great time just hanging out and taking our minds off of things for a bit. Apologies to dear friend of the show Matt Crowder.

    Greetings Aerosmith Mar 10, 2020
    Show notes

Every now and then an idea morphs into something that could be either great or a mistake. This time out just such a thing happened. What began with the intention of a show focusing on Aerosmith led to a fun little piece of trivia connecting the band with Rock Out Loud favorite Bruce Springsteen. This revelation led to a shift in the discussion on this episode before the recording ever began. How does Springsteen's first album, "Greetings From Asbury Park," compare to the self titled first album of Aerosmith? How would these artists evolve? Steve and Kristin give both albums a listen and discuss the need for a good producer, plugging the instruments in, and the importance of finding your own voice as an artist. It's a great time and we want your input. Is this a good idea for topics moving forward? What albums should we compare? Shoot us an e-mail and let us know we want to hear from you! Until then Rock ON!!!!

Kristin and Steve are back together for the marathon for CURE. It's an epic sized Rock Out Loud as Steve and Kristin kick off the reunion with talk of all kinds of things. Then it's the meat of the episode. With the recent news that My Chemical Romance is going on tour for the first time in years, it seemed only fitting that we celebrate by breaking down the most iconic of their albums. Steve is all new to it, and Kristin is a fan from way back so the discussion is what a Rock Out Loud discussion always is frank, fun, and (at times) fanatical. There's still time to donate to CURE at www.geekoutonline.com/cure until February 23, 2020. Help us meet our goal of $5000 this year and look for more Rock Out Loud later in the year.

    The Incredibles Feb 14, 2020
    Show notes

Disney Vault Talk returns for the GOLiverse marathon and Teresa and Steve pick up right where they left off as they discuss the Pixar film The Incredibles. It's a lot of laughs, news from around Disney, catching up on what we've been watching on Disney Plus, and of course NO CAPES! It's the most magical podcast on the internet...it's Disney Vault Talk and this time...it's super powered! You can still donate to CURE through February 23, 2020 at www.geekoutonline.com/cure please help us meet our goal!

    Episode 254 – Marathon 2020 Pt. 1 Feb 11, 2020
    Show notes

Shazbazzar from Techno Retro Dads is in studio with Steve as the marathon to raise money for CURE Childhood Cancer rolls along. The guys discuss a lot of geeky stuff primarily The Mandalorian. Then, they get around to some toy talk and there's plenty of derailing in the middle of things. If you haven't donated yet, please consider donating at www.geekoutonline.com/cure to help us meet our goal of $5,000. You have until February 15, 2020 to help meet this year's goal and don't forget to e-mail geekoutonline@gmail.com to let Steve know your address so you can receive a GOL Care Package as a way of saying thank you for donating!

    Episode 253 – Marathon Preview Feb 05, 2020
    Show notes

Then it's off to the geek races talking Marvel Television on Disney Plus, Clone Wars, fandom, comics, the Crisis Crossover, Trading cards, the marathon, all kinds of stuff. Geek Out Loud is on Geek Out Loud is on Geek Out Loud is on OH MY LANTA!

Episode 252 – Rise of Geek Out Loud Jan 15, 2020
    Show notes

Steve is joined in studio by his good friend Lucas Butler aka Lethargic Chewie. (To be fair, it should be noted that Steve gave that nickname before he actually KNEW Lucas and now knows that Lucas is anything BUT lethargic...sometimes nicknames just stick.) Also, "Thunder" Cam Hopman swings in to discuss some Mandalorian and Rise of Skywalker with the guys. They have to break in the middle to record a segment of the Big Honkin Show (Available now at http://patreon.com/geekoutloud) so to make the break more smooth, Steve drops in an episode of GOL on the road from mere days after his first viewing of The Rise of Skywalker. What's more stick around at the end of the show to hear Steve's discussion right after the movie with John Eddie Lowe, Monique Lowe, Chloe Lowe, Hayleigh Lowe, Mr. Ed Lowe, and Mrs. Glosson. The audio on the car segment and the coffee shop segment may not be the best, but it's all fun times. There will be much more Star Wars talk to come. For now, enjoy this discussion of a galaxy far, far away on your safe place to geek out!
