    I love to catch up with people that I haven’t connected with in some time, so when I saw that Dana Leahy was putting up a play this weekend, I jumped at the chance to invite her on the program.

    This Friday and Saturday (8PM & 10PM) at The Glitter Box, she stages her second play of the year, A New Pittsburgh Christmas Carol. In the episode we get into the impetus to create the show, as well as growing up in Ohio, but mostly dedicate most of our time talking about the importance of composting.

    Dana was super supportive of my old open mic The Wide Open Stage that I did at The Cattivo Lounge in Lawrenceville. I’ve always enjoyed her voice and perspective. I very funny lady for sure.

    I’m excited to see this weekend’s performance with a cast that features podcast alums and dear friends of mine Ian Insect & Michelle Riches. Please check it out.

    Addiction is a struggle for many, many people and with Greenbriar Treatment Center becoming a podcast sponsor this year, I wanted to bring in two members of their incredible team to discuss how things have changed in the last decade. We talk about how addiction effects everyone especially in our times today. I even opened up about my recent steps towards sobriety hoping our conversation helps destigmatize and educate listeners about addictions. Greenbriar has helped many folks get on the path to sobriety. If you or someone you know has issues with addiction please give them a call.

    Thanksgiving Week we’re digging into the archives for an early Art of the Covenant chat with my friend, comedian Ian Insect. I’m thankful for each and everyone of you that’s ever listened to the pod, come seen a stand up show or watched my film or tv work. People like Ian who have supported me from the outset are the exact reason that I’m still able to do the comedy that I love every week. Lots of great chats to come in the final weeks of 2019 ahead so thanks for your continued support of the podcast. Love to you all. Keep the faith.

    Original Air date: August 31, 2015

    “Get inside the mind of Pittsburgh stand up, Ian Insect, in this one on one chat about the creation to his unique on stage persona and style of comedy that he aptly describes as “Always On But, A Little Off.” Insect hosts his own podcast Ian Insect is Evil on the Epicast Network and hosts a weekly Monday night open mic at lave Lounge at 10p. #SWIVE Stand Up, it’s ya boi, from the I to the A to the N.”

    Tim Ross and rounds out the roster of Race to the Coffin comics with a conversation on touring, writing, anxiety, life and our favorite cereals.

    Tim is producing another edition of Loaded Deck this Saturday at Petrucci brothers Brewing in New Brighten, his drinking game comedy show. As Tim’s Central PA undefeated beer pong partner I’m confident that it will continue to be as successful as the two editions he put up earlier this year during his birthday weekend.

    I caught up with my former improv teammate Ian McIntosh while he was coming fresh off the inaugural month of the Burning Bridges Comedy Club Residency, a monthly comedian feature program for comics to deep dive and work on their craft with regular performances. He’s begun producing shows, like this Saturday’s Live at the Barbecue at Arcade Comedy Theater too, so we discuss running an open mic list, building a showcase lineup and working on set both on camera for Mulligan and behind the lense.

    Since 2013 I’ve lived in a beautiful castle that overlooks the Squirrel Hill Tunnel. It’s been easy to look down on the traffic and imagine the stories of each of the cars as they head into the city. Each one of us neighbors along our own journey in life. This past weekend, 11 journeys met their untimely end during the beginning of morning services at Tree of Life when an anti-Semitic shooter opened fire on Shabbos.

    I don’t know that this program will ever be able to have all the answers to why evil and hate are directed at Jews or any other marginalized group, but as is the goal to always improve and continue to work towards serving the most people I will continue to strive to have hard conversations on the days we need it most.

    Thank you to Amy and Tyler both for their candor and kind words. Please seek them out if you have the opportunity to see their work either online or on stage. They are both passionate artists like so many of the wonderful people I’ve gotten to know in my time here.

    “It is a tree of life to all who grasp it, and whoever holds on to it is happy; its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all it paths are peace. (Proverbs 3:17-18)

    We remember the Late Congregants of Tree of Life:

    • Joyce Fienberg, 75, of Oakland;

    • Richard Gottfried, 65, of Ross;

    • Rose Mallinger, 97, of Squirrel Hill;

    • Jerry Rabinowitz, 66, of Edgewood;

    • brothers Cecil Rosenthal, 59, of Squirrel Hill, and David Rosenthal, 54, of Squirrel Hill;

    • married couple Bernice Simon, 84, of Wilkinsburg; Sylvan Simon, 86, of Wilkinsburg;

    Garrett Titlebaum: It's Nice To See He's Working RSS

    Heading into Pitt Tonight’s second episode of its fourth season, I got the opportunity to chat with the new head writers, Lorenzo Disilvio & Clare Donaher. Having had the chance to interview the original three head writers (Episode 17) and both the original host Jesse Irvin (Episode 50) and the current host Andrew Dow (Episode 73) it only made sense to get these two comics on together as they settle into the semester and the leadership responsibilities of writing for Andrew’s second year behind the desk.

    We discuss the writer’s room, Collegiates and Comedians, Ruckus improv, stage presence, format changes to the show, and performing in front of your parents.

    Stop down on Sunday night for the newest episode’s live taping.

    Coming off an action packed comedy weekend in Pittsburgh, I was very lucky to snag an hour with these two jokers. This episode is full of fun, silly bits filled will dialogue on the catalog and controversy of Kanye fandom, Russian oligarchs and Midwestern life adventures.

    Local fans can check these two out in December when they return to 412 to perform at the Burning Bridges Comedy Club.
