76ers Sweep the Celtics, Jaylen Brown Explodes for 42 Points Jan 23, 2021
    Show notes

The 76ers swept the Celtics behind a flurry of Ben Simmons baskets, including five straight points on an and-one before a steal off Marcus Smart into a dunk that turned a one-possession game into an eight point lead with four minutes left. The Celtics competed behind another career night from Jaylen Brown, who scored 42 points, and strong contributions from Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart next to him. Brad Stevens called out the late game execution and miscues though, including allowing 42 points in the third quarter and struggling on defense. What do you make of the sloppiness and how big of a role did Smart play in the loss? The Garden Report debates.

Joel Embiid Unloads on Celtics, Kemba Walker Limited but Effective Jan 21, 2021
    Show notes

Joel Embiid racked up free throws in the fourth quarter to reach 42 points with 10 rebounds in a closing effort that put the Philadelphia 76ers back in the 1 seed with. a 117-109 win over the Boston Celtics. Kemba Walker struggled in the fourth quarter after long second half layoffs due to his minute limits, while Marcus Smart and Daniel Theis' second half surge wasn't enough thanks in large part to a breakdown on Danny Green's corner three and offensive rebound. Boston had little answer for Embiid inside as foul trouble racked up, but was it a fatal flaw or just Jayson Tatum's absence that tilted the game? The Garden Report debates.

Knicks Blow Out Celtics by 30 in Kemba Walker's Return Jan 18, 2021
    Show notes

Kemba Walker returned and occasionally struggled with ball control and three point shooting on the worst Celtics three point night since 2005. Walker shot 1-for-8 outside, but looked explosive and said he felt pain-free for the first time in a long time. He also collided with Nerlens Noel and left the game after falling on his side. The fall didn't do any damage and he projects to move on to Philadelphia for the series with the 76ers starting Wednesday. Will he be able to play and contribute consistently from here on? John Zannis, Jimmy Toscano, Bobby Manning and Josue Pavon from TD Garden discussed how he looked in his return.

Nets Trade for James Harden, Kemba back soon and Celtics Shut Down Jan 14, 2021
    Show notes

James Harden joined the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, one day after officially quitting with the Houston Rockets in calling out the team as broken. Kyrie Irving Under Investigation for Party Video Jan 12, 2021
    Show notes

The NBA is reviewing video that appeared on social media of Kyrie Irving at his sister's birthday party in a club, which is barred under the NBA's COVID protocol. Like James Harden to start this season, Irving could lose game salary for each night he misses in quarantine if the league finds him in violation of the protocol. Irving has missed four straight games for the Brooklyn Nets for "personal reasons" after Steve Nash initially did not know where he was hours before the first game he missed.

Bob Ryan and Jeff Goodman react to Irving's latest drama, Jayson Tatum testing positive for COVID-19 and the Celtics getting shut down, plus Tacko Fall's epic performance on Friday against the Wizards where he blocked Russell Westbrook and dunked home a critical fourth quarter bucket.

Will the NBA Postpone the Season Amid Celtics, 76ers COVID Outbreak? Jan 11, 2021
    Show notes

The news broke Saturday afternoon that the Covid-19 continues to run through the Boston Celtics locker rooms and, indeed locker rooms throughout the NBA. Jayson Tatum is the latest to be placed in protocol, with no confirmation of his infection status. It's been reported that the Celtics super star can miss up to 2 weeks. That would leave him out of action for games against the Miami Heat (1), Chicago Bulls (1), Orlando Magic (2), and rival Philadelphia 76ers (2). Just as the Celtics seemed to be hitting their stride, and getting healthy, their super star goes out. How will this loss impact the C's upcoming schedule?

Tacko Fall Steps Up in COVID riddled Celtics win over Wizards Jan 09, 2021
    Show notes

Jayson Tatum and Bradley Beal dueled early, before Jaylen Brown bolstered the Celtics ahead in tandem with his teammate while Russell Westbrook struggled alongside Beal. Beal ultimately erased a 26 point deficit in the third quarter, where he produced 21 points on his scoring and assists and reached 37 points before the end of three. The Wizards broke back within four, but Beal only scored five points in the fourth and key Westbrook miscues cost Washington the win, with Tacko Fall and Payton Pritchard flushing critical late buckets before Brown sealed the game from three. The Celtics won their fourth straight to move into the two seed at 7-3 behind Philadelphia.
