Show notes CLL #925 (feat. Chris Penn and Tom Benson) 04/15/1999 – Thursday Night Show Source – Lost Tape (2017) with Kevin Tape (2016) Patches

This is a new copy of the only appearance made by Chris Penn, he is a great guest and the only person Adam claims to have ever gone out for drinks with after a show. It’s too bad he didn’t guest again. Lots of Springfield, Missouri mockery and show content. They discuss an organic Italian restaurant and there is a hilarious one liner about black tampons. The writer of the movie ‘The Florentine’ Tom Benson joins them for the 2nd hour and Drew brings up their segment filmed earlier in the evening for the ‘Sleepless In Seattle’ Special Edition DVD. Flawless Episode. 100% Complete!

Show notes CLL #924 (feat. PJ Jones and Bryan Herta) 04/14/1999 – Wednesday Night Show Source – Kevin Tape (2016) with Tobydog Tape (2009) Patches

This is a new merging of the two only known sources of the episode, both P.J. Jones and Bryan Herta are making their second known appearance on CLL together. They previously guested on CLL #654 which aired on April 1st 1998, a year prior, this is the final appearance for both guests on CLL. Bryan has a killer quote about penises and Adam is enjoying having professional drivers in the studio again. “Perfectly Normal, Perfectly Healthy.”

From Wiki: Parnell Velko “P. J.” Jones[1] (born April 23, 1969)[2] is an American racing driver. He has contested in multiple disciplines, including NASCAR, IndyCar, Read More →

Show notes CLL #923 (feat. Ahmet and Dweezil Zappa) 04/13/1999 – Tuesday Night Show Source – Kevin Tape (2016) with Tobydog Tape (2009) Patches

This is a new merging of the only two known sources, Ahmet and Dweezil are in studio promoting ‘Happy Hour’ a short lived USA network talk show. They prove to be great guests and it’s a terrific episode. This is their 2nd and final appearance on CLL during the Adam era, they were previously on CLL #163 which aired on May 14th 1996. Watch out for “Vehicular Aids” and the conversation about the late David Strickland and a bogus call from Lisa Loeb’s sister. Also Adam has a big announcement. This episode is 100% complete and very fun! Do Not Miss This One! A True Sleeper Classic.

Kari is making her first of two known appearances during the Adam era, though there may be a lost appearance not yet accounted for. Adam and Drew have many silent moments during the first hour with Cindy, Kari joins them for the 2nd hour and her chemistry is much better with the boys. Solid Episode! “Perfectly Normal, Perfectly Healthy.”

From Wiki: Cindy Guyer (born February 9, 1961) is an American model and actress from Stamford, Connecticut.

Show notes CLL #921 (feat. Alexandra Paul) 04/11/1999 – Sunday Night Show Source – JBJ Tape (2008)

This is a new export of the only known file, Alexandra is making her 4th and final appearance on CLL. The audio has been improved and the episode is terrific. The episode is roughly 99% complete and Adam is back from his sabbatical in NYC with a tale of Jimmy Kimmel having his pocket picked and another round of palm cyst drama. Adam goes off on the airline turbulence PSA and has a killer one liner in reply to a caller who can’t orgasm with a man and another after he and Alexandra both spit out their salty licorice given to them by Producer Ann. Alexandra also talks about her electric car, years before the documentary ‘Who Killed

This is a new export of the only known copy of this episode, it’s nearly 100% complete. Stryker is co-hosting for the second time, Eddie Griffin is making his first known appearance on CLL, promoting ‘Malcolm and Eddie’ and his movie ‘Foolish.’ Eddie is in “bit” mode for the first segment, but he then warms up to the show and the pacing and becomes a solid guest. Not as great as his later appearance with Adam in 2005 but stong outing nonetheless.

From Wiki: Edward Griffin (born July 15, 1968) is an American comedian and actor. He is best known for portraying Eddie Sherman on the sitcom Malcolm & Eddie and the title

Show notes CLL #918 (feat. Kid Rock) 04/06/1999 – Tuesday Night Show Source – Lost Tape (2017) with Kevin Tape (2016) Patches

This is a new copy of the only appearance Kid Rock made on Classic Loveline during the Adam era, he proves to be a great guest and is very involved in the show, he is kind and funny. It’s too bad he didn’t come back for more episodes as he flows well with the boys and even gets a “good job” from Dr. Drew. Content and quality wise this one is a gem, a true “Sleeper Classic” that many listeners miss because they aren’t fans of his music. This was recorded during Kid Rock’s rise to success, he even mentions the MTV “Wanna Be a VJ” competition, it’s very April 1999!

Show notes CLL #917 (feat. Bob Guccione Jr.) 04/05/1999 – Monday Night Show Source – Tobydog Tape (2010)

This is a new export of the best copy of the show, the episode is 100% complete. Drew does not go off on Bob about Spin magazine and their reporting on HIV/AIDS, he seems to be holding his tongue and is fairly reserved throughout the episode. Drew does get some counter points in during the episode but he’s very subtle about it, Bob is a very involved guest and contributes quite a bit. Bob has one more appearance during the Adam era, coming up in 2001.

UPDATE: I misspoke in the intro, saying it was a Thursday night show, that was a copy and paste error I didn’t triple check, this was a Monday Night Show.
