NFTs are changing the way we engage with and understand art, community, money and much more. On episode 7, we broke down what NFTs are and further discussed their social utility with Brendan Gillen. On this episode, we’re going to look at the parallels between early online video gaming culture and the current NFT boom and how they’re both using the technology of the day to build global reaching online or digitally based communities. Today’s guest is Crypto Bushi or CB, as some call him. Crypto Bushi is the pod’s first pseudo-anonymous guest and he’ll share with us how he’s building community, creating art and leveraging all of his perceived wasted skills he gained as a younger online gamer in this new landscape of NFTs and web3. To follow Crypto Bushi, find him on Twitter & Instagram @thecryptobushi
DeFi or Decentralized finance is defined as an emerging financial technology based on secure distributed ledgers similar to those used by cryptocurrencies. Defi eliminates the fees that banks and other financial companies charge for using their services. With DeFi, you hold your money in a secure digital wallet instead of keeping it in a bank. On this episode, let’s talk some DeFi as it’s a growing global digital financial movement that has gotten the attention of the traditional financial institutions due to the fact that it offers bank-less and under banked communities around the world a chance to earn yield or return on the money. Today, I’m joined by Grant Nieddu who shares how DeFi and crypto play a role in his life as an entrepreneur, coach, investor and on his own financial freedom journey. Grant’s optimism about the future of DeFi and crypto is perfectly balanced with his personal and very accurate belief that at the end of the day - - markets and the larger economy are driven by human behavior and psychology. Throughout this episode, there is a bunch of new jargon and we both do our best to define things as we go. If we miss anything of interest, please google it and know that the DeFi and crypto communities are constantly creating new vocabulary for the growing space. And like with all of the previous episodes that discuss investments and personal financial opportunities, please know that this is not financial advice but rather a candid convo highlighting how people today are leveraging DeFi and crypto to create value and build wealth. The year is 2022 and it's time to own something on blockchain. What is blockchain? Well, it's the technology that backs cryptocurrency, NFTs and web3. And why should you own something on the blockchain? Well, because it's the new way we'll gather in community, exchange value via new currencies, because culture perceives it more and more as valuable and because we're curious and so our adoption of the tech is only going to continue to rise. On this episode, Jarrett defines what the blockchain is and why you and anyone on planet earth may consider owning a blockchain verified digital asset. Everyday, we’re surrounded by design. But how often do we think about those who spend hours designing our world? And beyond that, how are the creatives that design our world treated? How is their creative energy cultivated and encouraged within the the larger profit driven capitalist system? If it’s not being properly cultivated and encouraged, is there a better way? My guest today is Jesse Rademacher and he’s CEO and cofounder of Madeium - and Madeium is that better way. Madeium is a new-generation freelancer platform that brings together top design experts to build brands, products and experiences. It is also the world’s first blockchain innovation network that hopes to be the release valve for pent-up creative frustration. Jesse and his team have been building Madeium for the past three years and it was humbling to have met Jesse in this moment. The idea of design has been around a long time and it’s this history that has and will continue to inspire Madeium to create the future and not just think outside the box, but all together create a new one. For more info or to contact Jesse, visit www.madeium.com Be sure to follow Madeium @madeiummade on Twitter and IG and click their links in bios to join their discord!

Whether it's their yet to launch cryptocurrency, DIEM, their ability to monitor and control fake news around the climate crisis and/or their ability to dictate how we all engage with the future Facebook funded metaverse, Jarrett explores how Zuckerberg could continue to control our reality. And our digital world. Will you buy DIEM once you can use it on Facebook, Instagram and/or Whatsapp? When do you think Facebook will have its metaverse up and running?
It's often cited from cryptocurrency skeptics that the U.S. government will one day come along with regulation to ban or block cryptocurrency, bitcoin and the entire space. This episode, Jarrett explores why this is a false FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) narrative and how even Ted Cruz understands the potential of the space to transform the country and ensure that the US remains an innovation leader in the world. We don't grow by running away from new ideas but rather by leaning in and with crypto, learning/knowing is half the battle.
