Frontier AI Labs with Wil Waldon

Hi đź‘‹ I’m Wil Waldon. I build products with Claude and I teach others how to do the same.

I’ve been writing code for 15+ years. Fullstack product engineering, MVPs for early-stage founders, a couple of exits. These days most of my workflow runs through Claude. Claude Code, the API, system prompts, MCP servers. I use all of it daily.
This channel is where I break down how I actually use Claude to build and ship work. Not hype. Not demos that fall apart outside a screen recording.

NASA confirms SpaceX on track for Lunar Landing of Starship Dec 23, 2022
    Show notes

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson met with Gwen Shotwell, President and Chief Operating Officer of SpaceX, during Kennedy Center Honors this month. SpaceX is currently the second largest contractor for NASA, and is in the process of developing the spacecraft that will take humans to the moon. Nelson expressed concerns about SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's involvement in the company, as well as his distractions on social media platform Twitter. Shotwell reassured Nelson that he had nothing to worry about. NASA has made significant investments in SpaceX, including awarding the company a $3 billion contract to land astronauts on Mars by 2025, and a $1.5 billion contract for a second moon landing.

The Starbase Karen Incident Dec 20, 2022
    Show notes

SpaceX is building a gigantic rocket, 400 feet tall, down in Boca, Chica, Texas, it's star Base, and I spent about 10 months there. And I want to share these experiences with you.

I think everybody that I met down there was really nice. I don't think there was only one person. And this is the interesting thing, this is the funny thing that I wanna tell you. It was a couple days before Elon did his February talk about a February, 2022.

Talk about the state of star base and SpaceX's Starship. So I was there to cover the event. I was there to cover the stacking of the Starship, all that stuff. I was right down there. I was in the trenches for like 10 months. And this is the thing, I parked right around here, actually. It was. I was trying to get a shot.

You can kind of get a good shot from like right around here. And if you look over, you can see the orbital launch mount over here, right? The orbital launchpad, the orbit launch mount. You could see everything stacked up and I was filming from over here and for some reason there was this lady, and this is a weird story.

NASA's Artemis 2 mission: First crewed mission to the Moon since 1972 Dec 19, 2022
    Show notes

The Artemis program is named after the Greek goddess of the Moon and aims to establish a sustainable presence on the Moon by the end of the decade. Artemis 2 is the second mission in the program, following the Artemis 1 test flight which successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego.

The Artemis 2 mission will be crewed by four astronauts, who will travel to the Moon in the Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft. The mission will involve the astronauts spending about a week on the Moon's surface, conducting a variety of scientific experiments and demonstrating technologies needed for future exploration of the Moon and beyond.

NASA’s Orion spacecraft splashed down in the Pacific Ocean, west of Baja California, at 9:40 a.m. PST Sunday after a record-breaking mission, traveling more than 1.4 million miles on a path around the Moon and returning safely to Earth, completing the Artemis I flight test.

NASA Orion Spacecraft Headed to Earth + SpaceX Starshield Dec 08, 2022
    Show notes

NASA’s Orion spacecraft is on course for its return to Earth on Sunday, Dec. 11. The spacecraft made its second and final close approach to the Moon at 10:43 a.m. CST Monday, Dec. 5, just before its return powered flyby burn, passing 80.6 miles above the lunar surface.

Starshield leverages SpaceX's Starlink technology and launch capability to support national security efforts. While Starlink is designed for consumer and commercial use, Starshield is designed for government use.

Artemis I – Flight Day 19: Orion Prepares for Close Lunar Flyby, Teams Examining Power Conditioning Issue Dec 06, 2022

The burn, which used the spacecraft’s main engine on the European-built service module, lasted 3 minutes, 27 seconds, and changed the velocity of the spacecraft by about 655 mph (961 feet per second). It was the final major engine maneuver of the flight test.

“Orion is heading home! Today the team achieved another momentous accomplishment, flying Orion just 80 miles from the surface of the Moon. The lunar flyby enabled the spacecraft to harness the Moon’s gravity and slingshot it back toward Earth for splashdown,” said Administrator Bill Nelson. “When Orion re-enters Earth’s atmosphere in just a few days, it will come back hotter and faster than ever before – the ultimate test before we put astronauts on board. Next up, re-entry!”
