How to Watch Porn with Your Partner with Vanessa Marin [Encore] Sep 16, 2020
    Show notes

Are you wondering what it's like to watch porn with your partner? Vanessa and Xander Marin explain how to!

    I'm a fan of sex.

    So is my wife.

But I wish we were more insync. I go to bed early. She goes to bed late. I work during the day when she's ready to play.

    Sound familiar?

When Tatyana and I are turned on at the exact same moment, it's fireworks, and it's also rare.

Let me be honest, lately our sex life has been bonkers. It's been passionate, fun and sexy as hell (this is after 14 years together).

In the past decade, there have been many times when I felt "This is probably the best it'll ever be."

    How ignorant of me.

To think I knew everything. To think we'd explored the depths of our marriage to it's fullest extent, to think I had somehow mastered sex. WTF.

    Boy was I wrong.

The last couple years I've been learning about things that prove the proves -- I know what I don't know (I've heard about Tantra, but what the hell is it), but mostly, most stuff I don't know what I don't know (Wait...what did just say, this is the first time I'm hearing about this!)

The latter happens so often, I'm both frustrated by it (because I feel ignorant) and inspired by it (because there's so much I can do).

So...in the spirit of constant and never ending improvement, let's talk about sex.

Let's talk about it, because when sex is amazing, your marriage is better, and that is at the core of being a great dad to your kids. Happy dad, happy mom, happy kids.

So without further ado, here's a little preview to what's covered in my chat with the sex expert Vanessa Marin and her husband Xander…

    • Dealing with mismatched sex drives
    • Who's supposed to initiate?
    • How can we bring adventure into the bedroom?
    • The impact of porn (and how much could be good for you)
    • And lots more…

Enjoy the show! And if you dig it, please leave a rating/review -- it means the world to our team, and our guests.

    ABOUT THE GUEST

Writer, comedian, actor and producer ERIK RIVERA isn't just on his way to becoming the next big name in comedy; he's also quickly making a name for himself in Hollywood.

Not only is the part Puerto Rican/part Guatemalan comic's comedy special, "Erik Rivera: Super White," currently streaming on HBO Max, but he also just sold an animated comedy called "Ricky & Cricket" -- about a down on his luck Mexican-American actor, who starts taking control of his life with the help of Cricket, a brash, foul-mouthed guardian angel from the east side of heaven—to Amazon Studios (Erik developed the show with Mr. Iglesias writer-producers Peter Murrieta and Isaac Gonzalez).

As if that wasn't enough, Rivera is selling out comedy clubs in Los Angeles and co-writing/developing a new sitcom with Eva Longoria.

Erik has appeared at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, where he was hand selected to perform for Kevin Hart's Laugh OutLoud Network and on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

In 2019, he was featured in HBO/HBO Latino's "Entre Nos" stand up comedy showcase, which highlights the nation's funniest Latino comics.

Erik's comedy examines race, marriage, Latino culture and life as an American who's half Puerto Rican and half Guatemalan.

Stop Rescuing Your Kids with Skylar Pond [Encore] Sep 02, 2020
    Show notes

When should you stop rescuing your kids? How much should we let our kids struggle?

My guest today grew up with altruistic visionary hippy vegetarian parents in a logging community. Yep, you heart that right.

Dr. Skylar Pond and I had a killer chat about combat sports, comfort zones and what it takes to be the toughest SOB in america.

Other rabbit holes we travel down…

    • The story of Calcio Storico in Florence, Italy
    • How to view kids sports
    • When parents overprotection hurts
    • How hard should dads push their kids?
    • What is tempo failure and why does this prevent injury?

    QUOTE

    • "They see me fail and I see them fail and we grow together. We have that relationship with the challenges that we take." - Dr. Skylar Pond
    • "I think it's cool when our kids can learn about those experiences from their parents and they can say 'my dad really stepped up, he really did adventurous things.'" - Jon Vroman

    ABOUT THE GUEST

Dr. Pond's life took a turn toward sports medicine when he suffered a tear in his right shoulder while pursuing a passion in competitive rugby. The options posed to him were a) get the shoulder surgically repaired or b) stop tackling people and having fun-- so he chose c) develop a demanding and experimental shoulder stabilization routine and continue to play pain-free. After his successful experiment, he was inspired to pursue a degree that would give him the opportunity to share that same level of success with others. Now as a sports chiropractor, Dr. Pond is a resource to coaches and athletes who seek an alternative to injury care beyond rest, ibuprofen or surgery.

As a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, he serves as the team physician of Seattle's Pro Rugby Club, the Seattle Seawolves and The Ivan Salaverry MMA Team.

Dr. Pond does his best to practice what he preaches, he's currently a blue belt competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and he has competed for ten years in Kettlebell Sport, CrossFit and The Broken Skull Challenge.

Take Back Your Family with Chris Smith Aug 28, 2020
    Show notes

During his 90-minute workshop, Chris asked big questions... - What is your family brand? - How do you create and hold space for your family? - Why do kids fail at who they're supposed to be? - How can your home be the greatest leadership development opportunity in your world? - How much does your family know about it's history? I'd never seriously considered these questions, until now.

    In Kevin's words…

After having my first daughter and watching my gains diminish, what I discovered was short intense workouts are just as effective, if not more so than long strenuous ones.

As a father of two girls with a full-time job, and limited free time, I have been able to keep fitness a priority in my life through short, intense workouts with limited equipment and no membership to a gym or a CrossFit affiliate in over two years.

My goal is to equip you with the tools you'll need to be the father your family needs and to Fight The Dad Bod through short, intense workouts within a limited availability of time, space, and equipment.

There are no gimmicks or corny motivational speeches here – just honest tips, tricks, tools, and workouts for new dads with limited time on their hands.

Just know that you're not alone. There's a community of dads out there who have either experienced or are currently experiencing what you are going through or will soon be going through.
