Dark Halloween Decorations: How to Guide Your Kids Biblically Oct 01, 2026
    Show notes

Halloween decorations have gotten a lot darker over the past few years, with more blood and gore and more focus on death and the occult. One parent wrote in because the displays made them not even want to take walks with their kids. Shielding children from all of it isn't possible, so how can parents guide them biblically without simply saying "don't look"?

In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz walks through questions families can ask together when they encounter dark and gory Halloween displays. What are these decorations actually celebrating? What does Scripture say about death, and how should that shape the way we respond to what's on display in our neighborhoods? And how can a family walk past a dark display and come away remembering what is true?

Elizabeth also shares a moment from a Sunday school class where one teacher's quick response turned a surprising answer into a teaching moment.

How to Explain Depression and Anxiety to Kids: A Biblical Approach Sep 24, 2026
    Show notes

A listener writes in: her husband is taking a leave of absence from work while he begins treatment for anxiety and depression, and she wants to know how to explain it to their children. How do you talk with kids about a sickness they can't see? What should you say first, and what do you do when they ask something you can't answer yet?

In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz starts with a question from Genesis that gives children a category for every kind of suffering, then models the conversation step by step. She also shows how the same approach applies whenever someone your family loves is struggling with mental health, whether a parent, another relative, or a friend.

If this episode helped your family, please take a moment to rate and review the Foundation Worldview Podcast. It helps other parents find these conversations.

How to Explain the Trinity to Your Kids (Even at Age 3) Sep 17, 2026

How do you explain the Trinity to a child when you can barely wrap your own mind around it? When a four-year-old asks what the difference is between God and Jesus, most parents freeze. In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz shares the simple, repeatable approach she uses to introduce the Trinity to children as young as three: the one definition worth memorizing, why the familiar apple and water analogies may be teaching the wrong idea, and a simple game that helps the lesson stick at the kitchen table. If you have ever fumbled this question at bedtime, this episode gives you a clear place to start.

Mom Rage Videos: The Truth Behind This Trend Sep 10, 2026
    Show notes

Social media has been flooded recently with videos of mothers filming themselves losing control with their children, along with content framed as satire in which a woman mistreats a fake baby to make the point that children are a burden. What should Christian parents make of it? In this episode Elizabeth Urbanowicz reaches for a word she says she has never used before on this podcast, and explains why she believes it fits.

But the sharper question comes next. What if the parents listening are the most effective answer to this trend? There are young women nearby who are being told that marriage and motherhood are burdens to avoid, and young men being told their work exists to serve their passions. How many of them have ever watched a godly marriage up close, and what would it take to let them?

Elizabeth offers three questions for Christian moms and three for Christian dads to pray through, along with a word for single women and for anyone too deep in the toddler years to imagine having the margin for any of this.

Mentioned in this episode: the Foundation Worldview webinar Raising Toddlers with Patience and Purpose.

How to Teach Kids Responsibility Without Constant Battles Sep 03, 2026
    Show notes

Why do kids have to do chores, practice piano, or brush their teeth when they don't feel like it? Elizabeth Urbanowicz walks through the biblical reason responsibility isn't a punishment — it's a reflection of how God designed us as His image-bearers.In this episode you'll learn:- Why Genesis 1 frames responsibility as authority, not obligation- How to talk with kids about why work feels hard since the fall (Genesis 3)- How Romans 8, 1 Corinthians 6, and the parable of the ten minas (Luke 19) point to one day exercising that authority fully redeemed

Tattoos and the Bible: What to Teach Your Kids Aug 27, 2026
    Show notes

Tattoos are becoming more common among Christians, so how should we think about them, and how do we help our kids think about them biblically? There is only one verse in all of Scripture that directly mentions tattoos. Does it settle the question for Christians today, or not?

In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz looks at what the Bible actually says, starting with Leviticus 19:28 and why it applied to ancient Israel in a specific way. From there she walks through four biblical principles that shape a wise, God-honoring decision: children obeying their parents, glorifying God in everything, honoring God with our bodies, and walking in wisdom. Along the way she raises the questions worth asking before anyone gets a tattoo, from whether an image is superstitious to whether it will still fit the person you become decades from now.

If you want to give your kids the skills to work through questions like this on their own, this episode is a good place to start.

Mean Friends: How Do You Deal With Them? Aug 18, 2026
    Show notes

Your child has a friend who causes drama, whines when things don't go their way, and never seems to be disciplined at home. Do you allow the friendship to continue? And where exactly is the boundary?

In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz takes on a question every parent eventually faces. What is the actual goal of friendship, and how do you teach it to a young child? When a difficult friend is a classmate, a teammate, or the neighbor knocking on your door every afternoon, how do you stay kind while still setting limits? And what should you do when your own child is the one drawn to the friend you're worried about?

Elizabeth offers biblical boundaries and practical, situation-by-situation guidance for helping your child build healthy friendships, without simply cutting difficult children out of their life.

Nudity in Fine Art: How to Talk to Your Kids (By Age) Aug 11, 2026
    Show notes

You've taught your children "stop, run, tell" when a bad picture appears. But what happens when the nudity is in a Renaissance painting at a museum, or in a classical homeschool curriculum? Do the same rules apply, or is there room for nuance?

In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz works through a question she admits she's found genuinely hard. What actually separates a Renaissance sculpture made to highlight the beauty of God's design from pornography made for arousal? At what age can a child understand that difference, and what should you say before then? She walks through what to do at each stage, how to prepare a child before a museum visit or a field trip, and how she handles those galleries herself, then invites listeners to weigh in with their own biblically grounded thinking.

My Daughter Thinks She's Overweight: A Biblical Response to Body Image Aug 04, 2026
    Show notes

A mom writes in: her 10-year-old daughter compared weights with classmates and now says she's "so fat," though she's at a perfectly healthy weight. In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz offers a biblical way to help a child struggling with body image, showing why simply boosting self-esteem falls short and how to get to the real root. She then widens the lens to comparison and coveting in any area of a child's life, from weight to talents to belongings, and walks through how to repent of comparison and replace it with genuine gratitude.

What to Do When Your Child Argues About Everything (Even the Bible) Jul 21, 2026
    Show notes

What do you do when your child loves to argue, especially about the Bible? In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz answers a parent whose 12-year-old insists Jesus sinned by staying in the temple and by clearing out the money changers. Elizabeth unpacks a question-first approach that keeps a child's genuine questions welcome instead of shutting them down, shows how to take a child back to the text of Scripture, and helps parents discern the heart behind the argument: real curiosity, anger, or pride. She then turns to a second, everyday kind of arguing, rebellion against a parent's instructions, and walks through practical, gospel-centered steps drawn from Ginger Hubbard's "Wise Words for Moms" chart for addressing both complaining and defiance. A hopeful, practical episode for any parent raising a strong-willed, question-asking child.
