As the Third Reich crumbled, its strangest ideas didn’t vanish — they mutated. In this episode, we follow the fallout of Nazi occult science, from the bizarre SS witch archive known as Project Hexen to the Soviet psi programs it helped inspire.

We reveal how Nazi brainwashing techniques and esoteric warfare doctrines laid the groundwork for Cold War psychic experiments like MK-Ultra and Stargate. Then we return to the shadows of Der Riese, tracing the vanished trail of Hans Kammler — the SS general who oversaw Hitler's most secret weapons programs — and the myths of Die Glocke, a device said to defy gravity and reality itself.

Some projects ended in 1945. Others were simply hushed up...

The Hidden Thread – Part 2: Occult Warfare and Fortean Fronts May 06, 2025

As World War II erupts across Europe, the occult undercurrents seeded in Nazi ideology begin to manifest in darker, more structured forms. In this episode, we follow the secret arcane projects that evolved behind SS walls — from Himmler’s ritual fortress at Wewelsburg to the shadowy halls of the Ahnenerbe.

Follow along with the timeline of key names, dates and events of Fortean Phenomenon from Wold War 2 we put togther especially for this episode.

We explore how figures like Karl Maria Wiligut and Wilhelm Wulff helped shape a parallel world of runic rituals, mysticism, and astrology that quietly guided Nazi policy even as the regime publicly suppressed it.

At the same time, strange aerial phenomena begin to haunt the skies. Allied and Axis pilots alike report luminous orbs — the infamous Foo Fighters — while rumors swirl of exotic Nazi technology like Die Glocke. We delve into the mystery of SS General Hans Kammler’s disappearance, the eerie silence surrounding the Riese complex, and the fine line between esoteric science and Fortean myth.

This is not ancient myth. These are the fragments of a real and unsettling parallel history — where ideology, mysticism, and unexplainable phenomena collided in the crucible of the Second World War.

The Hidden Thread, Part I: The Occult Roots of Nazi Ideology Apr 21, 2025

Show notes

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode, Fortean Winds begins a multi-part exploration of an esoteric current that predates the Third Reich, shaped the worldview of key Nazi figures, and may still be influencing modern systems of belief, power, and perception today.

We trace the "occult thread" from the mystical teachings of Helena Blavatsky and the Theosophical Society, through the racialized myth-making of Guido von List and Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels, into the heart of Nazi ideology—particularly its grip on Heinrich Himmler and the SS. Along the way, we look at the Thule Society, the Ahnenerbe, and why Hitler—though perhaps skeptical—couldn’t escape the esoteric storm swirling around him.

Is there a system of symbolic control, ancient myth, and psychological manipulation at work—one that's bigger than any single regime?

Join RamX, Bones and the Fortean Winds team as we open this investigation into the hidden currents beneath modern history.

“The world you see is not the world that is.”

In this episode of Fortean Winds, Bones and RamX dive deeper into Episode 26: Hacking UFO Understanding, expanding on the question: Are we failing to perceive reality as it truly is?

Through the lens of Plato’s Cave, Donald Hoffman’s theories, and quantum physics, we explore:

The Perceptual Firewall—Why reality isn’t as physical as we think.
The Algorithmic Nature of the Universe—Are we living inside a structured system?
The Role of UAPs—Are they independent intelligences, or are they part of the system itself?
What “They” Need From Us—Why perception itself might be the key to their existence.
The Trickster Element—Why interactions with non-human intelligences are unreliable, and what that tells us.
Psionics & the Human Factor—Why some people experience more high strangeness than others.

This episode peels back another layer of the onion, exploring how belief systems reinforce our reality—and what happens when we remove those blinders.

🎙️ Plus, RamX previews Fortean Winds’ upcoming guest, a historian and experiencer, who will kick off a discussion on World War II and the Nazi occult empire.

Are you ready to see the shadows for what they really are?

Hacking UFO Understanding & Breaking the Perceptual Firewall. Feb 13, 2025

Show notes

Send us Fan Mail

For centuries, we’ve assumed that the phenomenon is hiding from us—but what if it’s not? What if we are simply incapable of perceiving what’s already here?

In this pivotal episode of Fortean Winds, we challenge everything we think we know about UAP, non-human intelligence, and hidden interactions. Instead of searching for “them,” we ask the radical question:

🚀 What if reality itself is the thing we’ve been misunderstanding all along?

We explore:

The Perceptual Firewall—Why we may be blind to a greater reality.
How to Break the Illusion—Brain stimulation techniques to shift awareness.
Hidden Interactions—Are UAP and other anomalies already engaging with us in ways we don’t recognize?
Building the Ultimate Perception Tool—How to expand awareness and remove blind spots.

Join Fortean Winds as we investigate what happens when we stop searching—and start seeing.
