    self-awareness: to be aware of self— your thoughts, values, emotions; so forth and so on. it is an important attribute to cultivate because it allows you to find purpose, develop authenticity, and gain a greater sense of well-being— not only for your own peace of mind but also for others. as we are born into society, we are immediately bombarded with distractions. this could be our parents, the media, education system, or a combination of the three. as we embark on this journey back to our truest selves, cultivating self-awareness is a major component of the process. in this episode, ri discusses self-awareness, filtering out distractions, and shares some of the many ways that she has learned to cultivate self-awareness over the years.

    imposter syndrome. Nov 22, 2022

    imposter syndrome is a psychological phenomenon in which you feel like you don't deserve your accomplishments. you might feel like you don't belong, don't deserve your success, or are "out of place". you might even be constantly worried others will expose you as a fraud. more than likely, you've experienced imposter syndrome at some point in your life. anytime you are growing or experiencing something new, you may feel this. since imposter syndrome will more than likely keep occurring (because we are always growing), it's better to learn how to deal with it rather than run from it. in this episode, ri shares her most recent encounter with imposter syndrome and how she's dealing with it. plus a new way to look at the psychological phenomenon.

    reparenting myself. Nov 15, 2022

    reparenting yourself is simply meeting + nurturing the needs of your inner child and taking the responsibility to be the parent you needed. no guilt. no shame. this can look different for everyone but for ri it looks like— nonviolent communication, letting go of perfection, honoring creativity, + losing fear of money. healing your inner child is a necessary part of growth + will allow you to get even closer to the life you desire.

    grieving the old version of myself. Nov 08, 2022

    when we talk about grief, we are often referring to the grieving process of someone other than ourselves— a loved one, a friend, a partner, etc. while grieving is a natural and very necessary response to the loss of someone close to you, it is just as necessary to grieve the old version of yourself that you are holding on to. in order to move forward and blossom into the person that you are meant to be, you must first go through this process. the best thing you can do for yourself is feel all of your feelings, forgive yourself, nurture yourself, and acknowledge the fact that it is okay and necessary to move on. the old version of you did what they had to do to survive. and that's okay. there are so many beautiful things waiting for you on the other side of this. <3

    we all have bad days. some days so bad that none of the things that are supposed to work are working. and that’s okay. it’s okay to do nothing on those days. there is so much beauty in nothingness. in stillness. find comfort on these days. do what makes you feel safe. because at the end of the day, this too shall pass. you don’t have to relive this day again. we feel those feelings. and we bounce back a day (or two or three) later. we got this.

    social media is always such an interesting topic and can be used in so many different ways— to connect, inspire, as a form of self expression/art, for recreational purposes and so much more. but even so, it still comes with a lot of backlash. it’s a distraction, causes insecurities— the list goes on and on. i too have found myself blaming social media for my unhappiness. but social media is not our enemy. we are our own enemy. we are standing in our own way. when we start to feel all of these negative emotions while we’re using these apps, it’s time to take a step back and really analyze what the real problem is and make some intentional changes within our lives. in this episode, ri covers the above points and discusses how to utilize social media like the tool that it is meant to be + create healthy boundaries with the online world.
