    Show notes

Did you know that like computers, people are hackable? Christopher Hadnagy, adjunct professor of Social Engineering at the University of Arizona’s NSA Design Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations and author of the new book Human Hacking: Win Friends, Influence People and Leave Them Better Off For Having Met You, is a social engineer who sheds light on the concept of human hacking and how to use it to understand and validate others.

    20. FOMO and ADHD Mar 25, 2021
    Show notes

Do you, a loved one, or any of your employees struggle with time management, organization, or decision-making? Does impatience triggers disproportionate anger responses? These could all be signs and symptoms of ADHD. George Sachs, a clinical psychologist specializing in ADHD, discusses how this neuro-developmental disorder may present in the workplace and how it is strongly linked to FOMO.

When you are hypersensitive to rejection and constantly seeking acceptance, you will inevitably lack the confidence in the decisions you make. Like FOMO, ADHD can make you feel like whatever it is that you are doing at the moment, isn’t enough and it could always be better, preventing you from being able to focus on your present life.

George discusses the implications of this disorder that often impairs executive function, negatively impacting both personal and professional relationships. However, George also provides a path for diagnosis and to develop the strategies through behavioral interventions to manage ADHD and help overcome FOMO.

    19. Can't We All Just Get Along? Mar 18, 2021
    Show notes

What do a 22-year-old former venture capital intern and an 11-time Emmy-nominated filmmaker have in common? Political entrepreneurship. Manu Meel, CEO of BridgeUSA, and Mark Kassan, co-founder of A Starting Point (ASP), alongside actor Chris Evans, share how their organizations dedicate themselves to creating spaces and platforms to foster civic engagement and meaningful conversations across the political divide.

BridgeUSA works with college campuses across the country to combat pessimistic political thinking by creating spaces to help students engage and connect while ASP is disrupting media by providing unbiased content about important political issues that allow users to form their own educated opinions. The bipartisan consumable content ASP curates helps to act as a launching pad for the conversations being had within BridgeUSA chapters throughout the country.

By joining forces, these two organizations are investing in a future where democracy responds to the people and not just for the people.

    17. Vision Science: If You See Success Are You More Likely to Attain it? Mar 04, 2021
    Show notes

Have you ever felt frustrated when trying to achieve a specific goal? Maybe you need to see success to achieve it.

Dr. Emily Balcentis, Professor of Social Psychology at NYU, whose TED Talk has surpassed 4 million views, explains the biology-brain connection between what you see and what you can actually get done, also known as Vision Science.

In her recent book, "Clearer, Closer, Better: How Successful People See the World," Emily provides insights into how highly successful people tend to see the world differently and how their methods can be replicated.

One of the tactics is narrowing your focus of attention. Doing so makes goals start seeming more attainable. In return, it boosts your psychology, pumping confidence and gearing the body up to the challenge physiologically.

To conclude the show, Emily expands on other useful strategies and provides practical suggestions to use these powerful tactics in your business and everyday life.
