Welcome to today's episode of "GM Web3," where we dive into the latest developments in the world of finance, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology.
In our previous episode, we saw a robust day in the equities market, with NVIDIA leading the way with an impressive 8% surge in their stock price, thanks to their stellar earnings report. However, today presents a different picture as stocks have taken a downturn. The spotlight has also shifted to interest rates, which have pulled back from their recent highs.
One noteworthy indicator of the economy's health is the initial jobless claims report, and it's signaling strength in the labor force. This suggests a positive outlook for the job market.
Turning our attention to the world of cryptocurrency, Bitcoin made a quick upward move, but it seems to have plateaued once again. Interestingly, the funding dynamics for Bitcoin and Ethereum are indicating a growing short position in the market. This could be due to a major fund hedging their bets, possibly against assets like NVIDIA stock. Our friends at OSF view this as bullish news for the short term, especially over the next couple of days.
A significant development in the crypto space is the movement of funds off exchanges. A staggering 200 million dollars were moved off exchanges just yesterday, hinting at large players stashing their assets in cold storage. This move could have substantial implications for the market.
Shifting gears to blockchain technology, Shopify is making waves by considering the use of USDC on the Solana blockchain. This move has the potential to gain popularity as it would substantially reduce transaction fees when compared to traditional credit card payments.
Lastly, we're excited about the upcoming Korea Blockchain Week, where we anticipate the convergence of artists, blockchain founders, and new enthusiasts. This event promises to be a hub of innovation and collaboration in the blockchain space.
That's a wrap for today's "GM Web3" podcast. Stay tuned for more updates on the ever-evolving world of finance, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology.

Welcome to the GM Web3 podcast, where we dive into the latest happenings in the world of finance and technology. Today's episode is packed with exciting updates:
Equities are off to a strong start with the S&P up by 0.6% and the Nasdaq surging by 1%. Interest rates are still a hot topic, with recent retracements from yesterday's peaks. While the Fed FOMC meeting is on the horizon, this month, we have the Jackson Hole event, historically a significant moment for the Fed, known for sparking extensive commentary. Last year was a bit of a letdown, but this time, there's something brewing.
In the crypto world, there's the usual Binance FUD, but it appears to be centered around rumors. Binance has been making headlines for teaming up with MoonPay after grappling with banking and access issues.
On the ETF front, we're still waiting for a decision. The tech world is buzzing with anticipation as NVIDIA prepares to unveil its earnings report today. NVIDIA plays a pivotal role in tech stocks and the NASDAQ, being the sole producer of the LM chips crucial for recent AI advancements, such as ChatGPT. Everyone's eyes are on this stock, eager to find out just how much they've raked in.
But that's not all. We had the privilege of hosting @dalegre, the CEO of Yuga Labs, on the show. He's had an impressive journey, transitioning from his COO role at Blizzard Entertainment to becoming a key player in the web3 space. With a background that spans Google, Activision, and the gaming boom triggered by Covid, Dale shared his insights into web3 and the Yuga Labs story.
In his own words, "It is so important for a company to have a healthy culture," and he's passionate about building culture on the blockchain.
Dale dropped some intriguing hints about developments in Europe, although it's not related to Apefest. He also shed light on MEebits, hinting that holders are in for something special in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates!

Welcome to GM Web3, your go-to podcast for the latest updates in the world of technology, stocks, and crypto. In our latest episode, we've got a lot to cover, so let's dive right in.
First off, the stock market had an excellent day recently, thanks in large part to a rally in chip stocks. British chip makers saw a significant boom, and tech stocks are following suit. However, there's some concern as we approach year-to-date highs in interest rates. Keep an eye on this development as it could impact the market.
Now, shifting our focus to the crypto world, things are pretty much where they were yesterday - not great. However, there's an interesting twist as a whale deposited a whopping 15 million after the recent crash and is extracting ETH at a slower but still impressive pace. The crypto market is always full of surprises!
In the tech realm, Friend tech is still dominating with over 100k signups, despite a slight decline in volumes. It's clear that the tech community is thriving.
And for all you crypto enthusiasts, don't forget it's still on-chain summer for another month, so let's make the most of it!
Now, for a bit of crypto drama, Shibarium is set to relaunch after locking away millions in ETH, never to be recovered. Keep an eye on this space for some exciting developments.
In this episode, we had the pleasure of welcoming @qbuttonphd, our new VP at Rug Radio. She's already making waves and shared her vision and journey to this point, giving us a glimpse into what's in store for the future.
But that's not all, folks! We were also joined by the legendary Sam Spratt, the creative genius behind Lucy and the recent Monument game drop, which sold out in the blink of an eye. Sam shared insights into his creative process and teased us with what to expect from the upcoming "game." It's truly an epic listen for any fan of art and culture.
So, whether you're into stocks, crypto, tech, or art, this episode has something for everyone. Tune in and stay updated on the latest happenings in the exciting world of Web3. Let's keep riding the waves of innovation together!

In today's episode, we dive into the financial world, where interest rates have surged to 20-year highs in 10-year treasuries, a rather unusual situation given the state of equities. Our hosts discuss how this might not bode well for the overall crypto market, with rising interest rates potentially impacting investor sentiment.
Despite some exciting news in the crypto space, such as the recent developments in Ethereum, the market seems to be treading water since the recent sell-off. The highly anticipated approval of a BlackRock ETF is on the horizon, but it's not expected for several months. This delay could explain why some investors are cashing out their profits, expecting a bit of a wait before the ETF's impact is felt.
The macroeconomic focus is currently on China and interest rates, with data suggesting that both stocks and cryptocurrencies may be oversold. There's a growing sense that a bounce might be in the cards, especially considering that Bitcoin recently hit its lowest RSI levels ever.
However, our hosts issue a word of caution regarding leverage. They highlight that expected volatility could return to the market in a way it hasn't in quite some time, urging listeners to approach trading with care.
Shifting gears, the discussion turns to "Friend tech," the latest trend in the crypto world. It's intriguing to note that 80,000 wallets have traded shares in some capacity in just the past 11 days. While it's not quite a Ponzi scheme, it bears some resemblance, but our experts see potential use cases for this emerging trend.
The podcast also features guest appearances. Joe and Repjar from the Overlords/Creepz Community, joined the conversation, showcasing their unique NFTs and artworks.
Lastly, they welcome Michael Kutsche, a German-born artist who combines fine art with glitch style and 3D elements. His STUBS piece, titled "Onward," is set to be available for the burn this Friday, promising an exciting addition to the NFT art world.
That wraps up this episode's summary, where we've delved into the complexities of interest rates, the crypto market, and the fascinating world of NFTs and digital art. Stay tuned for more insightful discussions in future episodes!
