Feeling Things with Amy & Kat

Feeling Things with Amy & Kat is a podcast for anyone who’s ever had feelings—or wants to. Hosted by Amy Brown and therapist Kat Van Buren, this is a space where nothing is off-limits. From deep reflections on childhood to pop culture obsessions to what’s happening in the world, all feelings deserve a seat at the table—big, small, awkward, joyful, confusing, and everything in between. At its core, it’s real friends having real conversations about real feelings. Some episodes go deep, some stay light, but all are rooted in curiosity, honesty, and connection. In a world that moves fast, sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is pause… and feel things.

What's God Got To Do With It?: God, the Brain, and the Body Battle (Part 5) Aug 02, 2025
    Show notes

Welcome back for Part 5 of the official crossover series of the "What’s God Got To Do With It?" and Outweigh podcasts.

This week we’re diving deep into a crucial part of the food and body image conversation—what Leanne likes to call your “body brain.”

If you’ve been following along, you know we’ve been exploring how faith intersects with our struggles around food and self image. Today, we’re turning our focus to the physical side of things, and how your body (and your perception of it) are deeply intertwined.

We’ll be looking at this from both a nervous system and physiological perspective, but we can’t ignore the importance of how you view your body and your relationship with it.

This episode isn’t about offering a quick fix; it’s about helping you understand the deeper layers that contribute to your struggles.

Leanne also shares her personal journey of overcoming her own body image (and chronic pain) battles, so you can see that real, lasting change is possible...but it starts with breaking the chains of your own harsh self-criticism, guilt, and shame.

The hope is that by the end of this episode, you’ll feel empowered to start dismantling your own beliefs and step into a new story about your body. Remember, this isn’t just about what you weigh or how you look—it’s about freeing yourself from the heavy burden of judgment and stepping into a place of peace and self-compassion.

Soul Sessions: Lion's Gate Portal: How to Manifest Abundance & Empower Your Life Aug 01, 2025
    Show notes

The Lion's Gate Portal is a significant cosmic event occurring annually from July 26th to August 12th. This mystical alignment involves the Earth, Sun, the star Sirius, and the Orion Constellation, forming a powerful galactic bridge between the human and the divine. It's an opportune time for empowerment, abundance, and spiritual evolution.

Considered a beautiful period for manifestation, the Lion's Gate Portal acts as an empowering gateway to access your higher consciousness and connect with your higher self.

Mark your calendar for August 8th to fully harness the amplified energy of the 8/8 numerology code. This is a prime time for:

    • Meditation and self-reflection: Engage in quiet contemplation, light a candle, burn sage, and practice deep breathing to connect with this mystical energy.
    • Chakra activation: Focus on activating your solar plexus chakra.
    • Crystal work: Incorporate citrine, pyrite, gold, and tiger's eye crystals to enhance your energetic alignment.

With the Sun in Leo during this period, the Lion's Gate Portal emphasizes fertility and abundance. Your mind becomes especially open and fertile, allowing you to co-create your reality and birth something new. Take time to envision and dream, clearly seeing yourself in the future you desire.

Celebrate this potent time by getting creative and intentionally taking steps to live a higher, lighter, and brighter life. Explore ways to spread your light and give your heart freely and generously.

Write Your Story: Writing Advice That Might Hurt Your Feelings Jul 25, 2025
    Show notes

This week, I want to offer some straightforward writing and publishing advice that might hurt your feelings; but I’m willing to hurt your feelings since it is in service of awakening your inner artist (see: last week’s episode).

Even if you’re “not a writer” or don’t have any aspirations for publishing, this advice is for you. It’s for any creative person who questions the validity of their art because they don’t make much (or any) money from their creative pursuits, because they don’t have a big following, or because their art doesn’t look like the art of those who have had commercial success.

Before you give up, or if you already have, check out today’s episode. What I have to say might just change the way you approach your art altogether. I hope it helps you and I can’t wait to see what you make.

We talk about how inviting God into your journey can help break those chains, allowing you to step into a new identity rooted in peace, love, and TRUE freedom.
We explore the concept of the "food brain" and how it’s wired to seek comfort and connection through unhealthy coping mechanisms like overeating, mindless scrolling, or other habits that distract from what your soul truly needs.
This episode isn’t about quick fixes or surface-level solutions; it's about understanding the root of your struggles and learning to meet them with compassion, solution-focused care, and faith.
If you’re ready to shift your focus from fighting with your body to truly healing your relationship with food, this conversation will guide you toward that transformation, with God right by your side.

Soul Sessions: Elevate Your Energetic Currency: A Mid-Year Guide to Inner Alignment Jul 20, 2025
    Show notes

On this week's episode of Soul Sessions with Amanda Rieger Green:

As we reach the midpoint of the year, it's a powerful time to recognize that your energy and frequency are your most vital currency. Your physical body acts as a sacred tuning fork, constantly sensing and reflecting your inner state. Understanding and refining this connection is key to navigating life with grace and integrity.

We are living through a period of significant energetic shifts and evolution, where old structures are decomposing to make way for new. These changes are not just abstract; they are real and visceral, impacting us on physical, energetic, and spiritual levels. Honoring what resonates as true within your energetic field is paramount.

To cultivate a strong and coherent energetic field, focus on these three checkpoints:

Sacred Discernment: Trust Your Inner Knowing

Your discernment is a sacred tool for navigating your energetic landscape. It's not about judgment, but rather a deep, intuitive recognition of what aligns with your highest good. We've often been conditioned to override this inner knowing with politeness or external expectations, leading to regret and energetic drain. Mantra: "If it dulls my field, it doesn't belong."

    Energetic Boundaries: Cultivate Stable Containment

Energetic boundaries are not about building walls or defensive armor; they're about fostering stability within your own energetic field. The goal is to become so attuned to your own unique signal that anything out of alignment cannot stick or reside within your space. Mantra: "I hold my signal. I do not shrink, and I do not leak."

Your Body as a Tuning Fork: Calibrated for Coherence

Your physical body is not something to constantly fix; it's an intricate frequency reader and bio-instrument, constantly tuning and recalibrating. It's often processing information faster than your mind can consciously grasp. Mantra: "My body is calibrated for coherence; it only harmonizes with truth."

Remember, the most sacred thing you can do right now is to honor what feels true in your field. This isn't about seeking external proof; it's about claiming your sacred discernment. When you hold your signal clearly, you create the space for authentic connection and alignment.

Tune in to hear as Amanda shares practical exercises to help you maintain your energetic integrity!
