It’s a hotel whose history is ingrained in more than three hundred years of hosting royalty, (it was even an army headquarters during World War II). This week, Roger Dow, President and CEO of the US Travel Association, reports on the decline of inbound foreign travel to the U.S. for a second year in a row, and what it means, not just to the economy, but to us as travelers.     This week, Travel Today with Peter Greenberg celebrates the best of America’s museums, with a look back at some of this year’s memorable moments in history as displayed, in many cases on an interactive basis, by many of these museums. First, the radio show broadcasts from the Mile High City, where the Denver Art Museum houses a collection of more than 70,000 works. Then, it’s on to The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana. The museum, which sits on a six-acre campus in downtown New Orleans and spreads across five pavilions, has been designated by Congress as the official WWII museum of the United States. Then the radio show airs from one of America’s newest museums—the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philadelphia served as a crucial hub in the Revolutionary War, and is a fitting location for this museum. The museum houses the most impressive collection of artifacts and spans the scope of the war and includes art, manuscripts, printed works, and arms used by all sides in the conflict.     In support of the victims of the recent shooting in Las Vegas, this week the Peter Greenberg Worldwide Radio Show featured a special rebroadcast. The original show aired from the Nobu Hotel in Caesars Palace on June 27, 2015, and featured hotel developers and restaurateurs of Las Vegas. This destination depends heavily on travel and tourism for its economic base. If you would like to help those affected by this tragic event, you can donate to many individual crowdfunding accounts.You can also make donations to organizations such as the United Way of Southern Nevada, the American Red Cross, or the Salvation Army Southern Nevada Chapter. If we’re truly travelers in the best sense of the word, we should do everything we can to travel and help.
