    Experience 50 Podcast for Midlife

Men and women in midlife are drawn to Mary Rogers’ honest take on the experiences of the empty nest, aging parents, spending an inheritance, dating and sex, travel, downsizing things, trashing bad habits and figuring out who you want to be now that you really are all almost grow up.

The podcast is always smart, usually funny, and occasionally painfully real in speaking to the cusp of GenX and Baby Boomers.

E101 Home Free with Rifka Kreiter A Child of the Sixties May 25, 2017
    Show notes

The Sixties: Drugs, Sex and Rock n' Roll were the background of author Rifka Kreiter's coming of age.

After a defining spiritual experience on an acid trip, Rifka set off on a quest to recapture her personal discovery.

After surviving a fraught childhood in New York and L.A., Rifka Kreiter revels in studying acting at the High School of Performing Arts and dancing the Twist at the Peppermint Lounge. Her road leads through broken love affairs and virtually all the great movements of the sixties, including civil rights marches in Mississippi, antiwar demonstrations in San Diego, and est seminars in Manhattan. On a deeper level, this is a profound quest to heal her psychic wounds and find spiritual meaning that she intuits lies beneath all the tumult of those times.

Here is an exploration of life’s deepest questions, as Rifka strives to bust free, be it with drugs, therapy or meditation. A triumphant story about a search for liberation on every level, Home Free: A Child of the Sixtiesends with a jaw-dropping discovery—one as unexpected as it is transformational.

Robyn pivoted from a consuming corporate career in her early forties to a more flexible schedule as an independent business consultant in order to spend more time with her kids before they slipped through her hands.

E094 My Crazy Pivot Into Radio Jan 12, 2017
    Show notes

People ask me how I got into podcasting and broadcast radio. Total fluke. Today, I'm sharing the ghastly story of getting my own daily morning talk radio show on 106.7 WSRT. It's not pretty.

There is much more to this story, more lessons than I share here and certainly more people who came to my aid and helped me to believe in myself.

Bottomline: Sometimes, awesome and incredible opportunities will just land in your lap. Ignore the fear and make the most of it. The alternative is to play it safe, say no and always wonder "What if?"
