Something Else Hunts Here Oct 19, 2026

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys kick things off by enjoying the long-awaited arrival of cooler weather here in North Central Texas. With fall finally settling in, Kyle and Cam talk about the changing seasons, their recent appearances on other podcasts, and the incredible influx of new listeners discovering the show. They also take a moment to welcome everyone who's recently joined the Expanded Perspectives family before diving headfirst into another collection of bizarre encounters and unexplained mysteries.

Then, things take a turn for the strange. A possible time slip leaves someone questioning everything they thought they knew about reality. In Kansas, a witness encounters an impossibly tall figure that unleashes a bloodcurdling scream before attempting to mimic a woman's voice. Elsewhere, a terrifying encounter with a towering, pure-white humanoid brings to mind something straight out of the science-fiction nightmare Prometheus. And if that isn't unsettling enough, mysterious shadow beings continue to make their presence known.

Deep in the wilderness of Idaho, campers hear a horrifying screech coming from an abandoned train tunnel, only to discover that something resembling a Wendigo may be lurking in the darkness. Meanwhile, during an elk hunt in northern Idaho, a witness spots something almost impossible to describe: a glowing, worm-like creature stretching 10 to 12 feet long, pulsing with light as it floats and weaves silently between the trees. What on earth could it have been?

But the weirdness doesn't stop there. Enormous flying creatures resembling manta rays are reportedly spotted soaring over Philadelphia. An innocent afternoon searching for arrowheads in Nebraska turns into a bizarre encounter with what may have been the mysterious Fae Folk. In southern New Mexico, a witness comes face-to-face with a strange, white, baboon-like creature that seems completely out of place in the American Southwest.

Finally, a frightening roadside Bigfoot encounter in West Virginia is followed by another sighting on a rural Pennsylvania farm. But the story takes an even stranger turn when the property's former owner reveals that the creature is no stranger to the land. In fact, according to him, Bigfoot has been living there for years.

What are these things? Unknown animals, visitors from somewhere beyond our understanding, or something far stranger hiding just outside the boundaries of what we believe is possible?

From screaming giants and glowing creatures in the forest to shadow beings, mysterious flying monsters, and Sasquatch lurking in the darkness, this episode is packed with the kinds of encounters that remind us just how little we truly know about the world around us.

When the Veil Failed Sep 25, 2026

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys kick things off by catching up on life, including Kyle forgetting his Phizzy water in the car, the upcoming hockey season, college football, deer season, and their upcoming trip to Tennessee for their annual Halloween show with Ducks Unlimited.

Then, it’s time to get into the strange.

Deep in the forests of Oregon, a witness encounters a frightening antlered figure that seems like something pulled straight from an old nightmare. In Illinois, a girl hunting with her grandfather discovers a strange object in the woods and decides to bring it home—a decision that may have brought something else back with her. While serving in Iraq, a Marine witnesses a bizarre hovering craft that appears to be completely invisible to the naked eye and can only be seen through night vision. In upstate New York, an unexpected encounter with a massive, unexplained creature leaves a witness wondering if Sasquatch really does roam those woods.

Finally, the guys dive into an incredible account from rural Arkansas involving a young deer hunter who stumbles upon four tiny humanoid figures deep in the forest. What he witnesses is strange enough, but when the beings suddenly realize that he can see them, the encounter takes a terrifying turn. And what happens after he makes it home suggests that whatever he encountered in those woods may have known exactly where to find him.

Were they creatures, spirits, the Fae, or something that normally exists just beyond our perception? Perhaps, for just a few moments, the barrier between their world and ours simply failed.

It Knew My Name Sep 14, 2026

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys kick things off by talking about the incredible Texas comeback against Ohio State in college football before diving headfirst into another collection of bizarre and unsettling encounters.

First, a witness reports a disturbing encounter with a mysterious horse-headed humanoid. Then, a group of hikers camping inside what appears to be a fairy circle discovers that some of their expensive equipment has mysteriously vanished—and they begin to wonder if the Fae Folk might have had something to do with it. Near Johnson City, Tennessee, another witness comes face-to-face with a bizarre three-horned creature, while deep in the woods of Minnesota, someone experiences a terrifying encounter with what they believe may have been a Wendigo. Later, a logger camping in the Oregon wilderness spots something near camp that looks disturbingly like a Dogman.

Finally, we travel to the forests of northeastern Pennsylvania for an encounter that Evan has never been able to explain. At thirteen years old, he and three friends set out through the woods toward an abandoned quarry. Along the way, they discover a mutilated deer, a bloodstained piece of cloth, and an old rusty knife. Then Evan notices something watching them from behind a tree—a massive gray hand with long fingers and what appear to be claws.

Things only get worse when the boys hear a strange, mechanical voice coming from the woods. Moments later, they see the creature itself: an enormous humanoid figure with impossibly long arms, huge claws, red eyes, canine-like teeth, and a horrifying metallic roar. The creature gives chase, pursuing the terrified boys through the forest until they finally reach the road.

But that's when the encounter takes its most disturbing turn. The creature stops at the edge of the woods, stares directly at Evan, opens its mouth, and speaks a single word in that strange metallic voice: “Evan.” Somehow, the thing knew his name. Horse-headed humanoids, mischievous Fae Folk, three-horned creatures, Wendigos, Dogmen, and something lurking in the Pennsylvania woods that may have known far more about four young boys than it should have.

The Croft State Park Encounter Sep 07, 2026

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys kick things off with some catching up about their recent trip to Florida to do a podcast with “Ninjas Are Butterflies”, before diving headfirst into another collection of strange and unsettling encounters.

From bizarre experiences in the wilderness to unexplained creatures and encounters that seem to defy any conventional explanation, the stories this week serve as another reminder that sometimes the strangest things happen when we least expect them.

Then, the incredible story of a listener named Lewis, whose experience began as a peaceful camping and fishing trip with his girlfriend at Croft State Park in South Carolina. After noticing a mysterious orange light moving through the night sky, the couple watched as the strange object returned the following evening—this time descending over Lake Craig. But later that night, things took a terrifying turn. Lewis awoke around 3:00 a.m. to strange sounds moving around their campsite. Thinking raccoons had gotten into their supplies, he climbed out of the tent to investigate. Instead, he found the glowing orange object hovering nearby—and several small, childlike beings moving through the camp.

What happened next remains a mystery.

Hours later, Lewis was discovered more than a mile from the campsite, lying facedown in the grass along a trail. He had no memory of how he got there, his shoes were missing, and his clothing was strangely out of place. More than four decades later, Lewis still wonders what really happened during those missing hours—and whether some memories are better left buried.

David is a true Renaissance man of the strange and supernatural. On this episode of Expanded Perspectives: From the Archives, we revisit our conversation with author, researcher, and hidden history investigator Rick Osmon.

Could Roman explorers have reached North America centuries before Christopher Columbus? Rick joins us to examine the evidence, challenge conventional history, and share the research that has led him to believe there may be far more to America's ancient past than most people realize.

Before becoming a full-time researcher and author, Rick built an impressive career in engineering, working with defense contractors and later as a civilian engineering specialist for the U.S. Navy. His work focused on advanced radar, night vision, laser systems, and surveillance technologies supporting Special Operations equipment acquisitions.

Driven by a lifelong fascination with archaeology, ancient history, geography, cartography, and the unexplained, Rick left government service in 2005 to dedicate himself to researching hidden history. He went on to host popular internet radio shows, including The Oopa Loopa Cafe and Unraveling the Secrets, which became part of the Paranormal Soup Network before evolving into the Soup Media Network.

Rick is also the author of several books exploring ancient mysteries, beginning with The Graves of the Golden Bear: Ancient Monuments and Fortresses of the Ohio Valley, published in 2011.
