Let Love Rule Jul 11, 2017
    Show notes

When most people think of love they think of partners, kids and family. Yet love goes beyond that. So let’s talk about it. Love your career, love your friends, love your environment, love it all! Earlier in my life, I had a lot of the same struggles that we’ve all had but those struggles have paid off. If you are anything like me, it is time to enjoy the fruits of those labors – and that means more than money. While a big payday is nice, there is much more to it than that.

Listen in and learn how to love your life. Not a perfect life but a life worth living.

**Technically, Jean and I are on a two-week hiatus but I recorded to short shows (about 15 minutes each) to tide you over until we return. This is the first of those shows.**

Shoes are like Men Jul 05, 2017
    Show notes

Shoes are like Men. No, they really are! I read Kim Interdonato’s book, Shoes are like Men, and I found myself and several former boyfriends as I read. In fact, I think most women will find at least one shoe that seems to fit into her dating past.

Kim and I had a fun and honest conversation about:

    • Dating in your 40s
    • Our own dating histories.
    • Which shoe we most identified with
    • How some former men friends wondered which shoe they could be
    • Why it was important not to descend into male-bashing

Shoes are like Men is a fun read and we had a really fun (and feisty and fabulous) conversation.

Writing Your Own Story Jun 27, 2017
    Show notes

You know, you don’t have to be a celebrity to write your memoirs. You can chronicle your life, your ups and downs, and leave that book for others to get a glimpse of who you really are.

Jean and I sat down with Cathy Cardio, author of It All Matters: The Parent Project to talk about living your life and writing about it. She encourages people by asking them some thought-provoking questions that get you thinking about your life. So also inspires people to write out their bucket list and actually begin crossing items off of that list. In other words, Cathy wants people to live life and live it fully, without regrets and chances not taken.

Indian Interracial Dating Jun 20, 2017
    Show notes

Aman Kaur is a podcaster with a podcast about Indian Interracial Marriages. What impressed me the most about Aman (besides her humor) is that amid the differences in cultures, there are just as many similarities.

At the end of the day, love is love, but there are some things to consider:

Why a show about Indian Interracial Marriages?

    • How will your family react?
    • How will their family react to you?
    • Is it difficult to learn and embrace another person’s culture?

Listen and prepare for an insightful, engaging experience!

Finding My Father Jun 15, 2017
    Show notes

For most of us, being a daughter is second nature. But what if it wasn’t? Jan Krulick-Belin lost her father unexpectedly at the age of six and never really got to know who he was as a father or as a man. It took finding 100 letters he had written to her mother during World War II for her to get a glimpse of who he was.

In fact, the discovery of the letters was just the beginning of a journey that took five years and ended up in Morocco in Northern Africa. She learned about her father as well as her own personal heritage and history.

Jan’s is a fascinating story that test the bond of a father and daughter.

    Empower Yourself Jun 13, 2017

Cindy Holbrook is a divorce coach but she’s a female empowerment coach for all women – divorced, married, single. While neither Jean nor I have been married, we were able to relate to divorce when Cindy described it as a loss, a grievous loss. So don’t dismiss this show because you’ve never gotten divorced, there is much more to it than that.

Cindy, Jean and I talk about the power of No, the need to meet your own needs as effectively and consistently as you meet the needs of others and bucking many of the conventions and stereotypes that you often bind women and stop us from living our lives fully and completely. Most importantly, we talk about how to overcome these setbacks.

Exiting Your Comfort Zone Jun 06, 2017
    Show notes

There is a reason your comfort zone is your comfort zone. Well, it’s comfortable. Yet, if we aren’t careful our comfort zone can become a trap – one that is difficult to get out of. Maura Sweeney (http://www.maura4u.com) knows a little bit about that.

At the age of 50, Maura stepped out of her comfort zone and took dance lessons – proving to herself and her daughter that there is a life outside of the comfort zone. The great thing about stepping out of your comfort zone expands your zone and makes other forays out of it that much easier.

Maura, Jean and I had an insightful and entertaining conversation about moving beyond familiarity and going into the unknown. Amazingly, it isn’t as scary as you might think.

Maura has even written a book about exiting your comfort zone. A free copy awaits Fun. Feisty. Fabulous! listeners. Just put Fun. Feisty. Fabulous! in the subject line and receive a downloadable copy of The Art of Happiness Vol I: Exiting Your Comfort Zone.

Passion with Debbie Evans May 30, 2017

When I met Debbie Evans at an open house event, I knew I had to have her on my show. Her passion was infectious. She was selling Sheago Organics, showcasing body cremes and butters . She was so infectious that I even bought some (and I never buy anything like that)!

She isn’t just passionate about her products but she’s passionate about her life, her marriage and her now-adult children. She is also passionate about the entrepreneurial spirit.

Just listen to Debbie and you too will feel her passion. We had a fun, engaging and uplifting conversation and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Dress Code Dilemmas May 09, 2017
    Show notes

Panty hose, shined shoes, dresses, skirts and suits, remember when we used to wear them? Oh, my darlin’, things have changed. Jeans are acceptable in a growing number of workplaces and even churches. Dressing to go out to a nice restaurant is quickly becoming a thing of the pass.

Let’s try to make some sense of it … at least at work anyway. What is professional, business professional, business casual and casual. When do you wear which? Does how you dress even matter anymore. According to a lot of high school and college students, it doesn’t matter and many have begun rebelling to the concept of a dress code. Managers have a hard time enforcing them (especially when a male manager has to speak to a female subordinate).

    • Where can you go when you want to dress formally?
    • Where can’t you wear jeans?
    • What do you do when someone comes to work looking like a hot mess and violating the dress code?

We’ll answer these questions and more on this episode of Fun. Feisty. Fabulous!
