Play Every Event For Free with This 1 Little Trick | EP.127 Jul 27, 2022

Show notes

If there’s one country that knows what it takes to flavour the shit out of a tournament, it is Japan, where earlier this month, the 20th all-Japanese GOD of Legacy was crowned. However, similar to the Chess World Championship, one does not simply ascend to divinity but instead has to battle their way through a candidates tournament, in order to earn the right to challenge the reigning GOD of Legacy.

What sounds like an anime plot is the reality that Legacy players in Japan are living every quarter of the year. In today’s episode, the boys browse through the innovation to come out of the candidates’ tournament, and the psychology of whether or not you would dare to metagame against a deity. Oh, and Painter wins another big tournament. Tune in to learn more, and finally solve the age-old question of where the North of England actually starts!

USA, Kenya & Kai Wins EtCetera Legacy | EP.124 Jun 23, 2022

Show notes

Today’s episode is mostly travel stories from around the world: Callum just returned from his band’s month-long tour of the American Midwest and East Coast, where he picked up, among other things, an 18-inch machete at Walmart, and played in front of some of the biggest audiences ever…yet! Julian meanwhile declined an absolute bargain on a Maasai-knife in Kenya, where he spent the last three weeks working from a hammock above a lagoon. And Kai does, what Kai does best: destroying people with Doomsday, at the legendary Et Cetera Legacy tournament in Freising.

These are their stories.

We Are Scared of This Turtle! | EP.118 Feb 12, 2022

Legacy developers are currently working in full overdrive, creating fast-combo decks out of removal spells, and conducting ethically questionable experiments trying to merge two or more decks into one. Callum, Matt & Julian dive into the madness and uncover a hidden gem that had been lurking around the format for a while, before having its breakout result rather recently. The crew also explores the uses of it in especially UB “Tempo” Doomsday and why Temporal Mastery is now the most playable Miracle spell in Legacy.
