IF YOU CAN’T BEAT HIM, INTERVIEW HIM – Marco Montani Wins ANOTHER 4Seasons! | EP.165 Mar 27, 2024

Show notes

Watch this episode on YouTube

Marco Montani is one if not the most successful Legacy player of the last couple of years. He has Top8’ed FOUR 4Seasons Legacy Main Events, including back-to-back events of 400-500 players. “Guess who Top8’ed again?” has become Callum’s catchphrase of almost every 4Seasons event our crew attended, and at this point things are getting ridiculous.

Coming fresh of yet another Top8 (and a win!) at the Legacy Main Event earlier this month, this interview is Part 1 of this week’s double feature episodes. While Kai…actually where is Kai? We’re not even sure, but Callum & Julian have invited Marco to the cast to share his secrets, and get to the truth about what makes him so near unbeatable to almost everyone in the world.

GET DAZED, NERD – There’s A Patron Wizard in Town | EP.164 Feb 28, 2024

Show notes

Watch this episode on YouTube

Japan, Japan never changes – especially when it comes to Legacy, as probably one of the weirdest decks in years Top2’s the 233-player God of Legacy event. Ever made the mistake of thinking of Faerie Seer & Spellstutter Sprites as Pauper powerhouses? Think again, because they ripped right through this tournament, joined by their new partner in crime, Patron Wizard. Aether Vial, Stifle, and 21 creatures that are of course joined by Ensnaring Bridge – what’s not to love?

The boys also take a concerning amount of pride in finally getting a prediction right (Surveil Lands), and lay out why they’re not on-board with the long-term future of Leyline of the Guildpact in Legacy. And Goblins is a combo deck now, so we better treat it as such.

Show notes

For a hot moment, Kai, Callum & Julian return to their hometowns to record just the most excellent of podcast episode of the year thus far. Tune in to find out how one small misclick devalued the entire MTGO Markov Manor economy quicker than even Argentina could have done it. Also, place your bets NOW as Legacy’s most heated rivalry heads into its second round: Kai vs Callum is ON and they’re gonna be battling it out in both Legacy and on skis! Callum has skied at least twice before so this will be an easy victory for him, innit?
