Get to know the new permanent host of Everyday Eternal – Callum “Whitefaces” Smith! After making several guest appearances on previous episodes, EU employee protection laws have forced us to offer Callum a permanent contract as a host. Fortunately for us, Callum’s passion for Legacy and his sheerly insatiable hunger for innovation make him a perfect addition to our crew!

In today’s show, Callum, Matt and Julian look back at the first two weeks of companions in Legacy. Analyzing the first four Legacy Challenges, our team looks at 128 lists worth of Top32. Not only do we discuss the most commonly played and successful archetypes right now (Grixis & Jeskai Delver, Zirda), but we also delve deep into some innovative brews that have emerged from the mayhem that is this new (temporary?) age of Legacy!

For today’s show Eric & Julian welcome the most recent Legacy Super Qualifier winner Jeff “Pokemoki” White onto the cast. Together with serial guest star Callum “Whitefaces” Smith we discuss Jeff’s run through the tournament with Bant(r) Midrange (or is it Control?!) – and why Jeff thinks Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath might actually be slightly overrated.

In the second half of the show Callum introduces his to his latest made creation: the Dryad of the Ilysian Grove Stompy deck. The crew later explores the first Ikoria and Commander spoilers and start brainstorming one of the worst combo decks the world has ever heard of: Kraken-Clone Storm!

History Channel: The first 7 Legacy Bans | EP.74 Mar 30, 2020

With the world on lockdown and all Magic tournaments cancelled, we are taking you out of the current reality and onto a cruise through the history of Legacy. Together with our guests Marius “MariusOfTheMoon” Hausmann we specifically explore the bans of the years 2004-2011. I did a ton of research on this episode to provide you with some super interesting tidbits and little-known facts about these bannings. While doing so I found in particularly interesting to analyze Wizards of the Coast’s historic explanations about their decisions, which played a significant part in establishing the formation of Legacy as we know it today.

With all our hosts being contemporaries of all these banned cards, we discuss our experiences with the respective cards at the times and how we feel about the necessity of their bans.

Breaching Legacy + Pre-Innistrad Musings | EP.73 Mar 08, 2020

For today’s episode Julian is joined by UK Legacy experts Callum “Whitefaces” Smith and Francis “FGC” Cowper, as well as Swedish format veteran Marcus “Truckis” Ewaldh. The four of them discuss Callum’s and Marcus’ face-off in the most recent Legacy Format Showcase with UWr Breach, troubles in Kenya and Francis’ future aspirations in the House of Lords.

The second half of the cast is entirely dedicated to the new Pre-Innistrad Legacy format that has started making a splash in London and Texas. It’s a bit more chatty and open-ended as Callum and Francis describe their new experiences in the format, and compare them to what Marcus and Julian experienced in the format back when it was the current Legacy.
