    Show notes

In this reflection for the Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time, Kristen Fisher reminds us that God is the lover of our souls, and he loves us so much that he even helps us to come closer to him by giving us sycamore trees so that he can see us and offer us his mercy.

And just as he did for Zacchaeus, Jesus has prepared a way for us to get close. He’s prepared a help, a sycamore tree of our very own something, or someone that has been put in place to help us get closer to Jesus. Who or what is the sycamore tree that the Lord is offering to you right now?

    Show notes

In this reflection for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Fr. Erik Arnold encourages us to not run from God, to trust in his love for us, to ask for forgiveness, and experience His healing.

Don’t hide from God. When you don’t have good stuff to bring before him, don’t run away from him or think that God is just going to stop loving you when all you have to bring him are your sins. Jesus teaches us that he wants us to come before him as we are, with both the good and the bad.

    Enkindle 128 – 10.16.22 – Genuine, consistent, and persistent Oct 13, 2022
    Show notes

In this reflection for the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Patrick and Catherine Sullivan remind us that God is with us, and because we are made in his image, we don’t need to complicate things, we just need to be genuine, consistent, and persistent.

God loves us and wants to know us. He wants to be with us in a real and loving relationship. And just like any relationship, you don’t need to overcomplicate things. Sometimes a good relationship is just holding someone’s arms up, figuratively speaking of course, or just trusting, being consistent.

    Show notes

In this reflection for the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Kristen Fisher encourages us to recognize the gifts that we have, so that we can love the giver of those gifts.

Recognize the gifts in y our life, so that you can love the giver. Recognize, take stock, count up if you can, all the gifts that you have been given, so that you can go back to Jesus and cry out in a loud voice like the leper in the gospel. “You have done great things for me”.

    Show notes

In this reflection for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Fr. Erik Arnold shows how the story of Lazarus teaches us that it’s a gift and a choice to have eternal life with Jesus.

We take nothing with us when we die, except the history of how well or how poorly we’ve loved God and neighbor. Everything else stays behind. In the gospel this Sunday, Jesus teaches us a powerful parable about two men who end up in very different places after they die. Jesus wants us to have a living loving relationship with him now, and to be with him for all eternity.

    Show notes

In this reflection for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Kristen Fisher inspires us with the story of Dr. Mortel, who used everything that God had given him for great good.

Hasn’t God given us great treasures so that we can use them for great good? Treasures like time and talents, skills and education, opportunities, experiences and possessions? Hasn’t God given all of those things to each of us? Isn’t he the actual giver of every good gift ,and aren’t all of those treasures in reality, his? They have been entrusted to us so that we can use them for great good.

    Enkindle 123 – 09.11.22 – Come Home Sep 08, 2022
    Show notes

In this reflection for the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Kristen Fisher encourages us to receive the crazy, extravagant, and absurd love of God and come back home to Him.

Even when you’re good, or even when you’re bad, God does not pour out his love based on whether or not we deserve it. He pours out his love based on whether or not he wants to give it. And Jesus is telling us in the gospel that God always wants to give his love, even on your worst day, or your best day, and on every day in between.

The Holy Spirit is the love of God in a person. God loves you and he wants to welcome you home. So let him, whatever stands in the way, get it out of the way, give it over to Jesus and let him get it out of the way. Come home to the heart of the father.

    Show notes

In this reflection for the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, missionary Meg Hunter-Kilmer reminds us that we are beloved, and that we are children of God.

A lot of us, sometimes we just feel trapped. We feel trapped maybe in relationships with our brothers and sisters that are just always so unkind, where we do things that we don’t wanna do. We feel trapped in school, where we know we’re making bad choices, or maybe we feel like we can’t do the right thing.

We can’t work hard enough. We can’t try hard enough. We can’t succeed, to be who we want to be. We feel this way in our marriages, in our parenting with our coworkers. We have so many relationships that are broken. And in this reading, God is telling us, you don’t have to be trapped in that anymore. You can be set free.

In this reflection for the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Fr. Erik Arnold reminds us that everything in our relationship with God is pure grace.

When we’re humble, we recognize our faults, failings, and weaknesses. We recognize our spiritual poverty. How crippled we are in the spiritual life, how lame, how blind, and it makes us all the more grateful and amazed that God still wants us and invites us.
