Building the Catacomb Church - Episode 3. Truth as Defiance Sep 05, 2026
    Show notes

Today we are going to talk about truth. What does it mean to live in a culture of lies, and what kind of obligation do we have as Christians who are lovers of truth? What obligation do we have in this society to witness to the truth?
We are bombarded with ideas, images, and propaganda entirely foreign to Orthodox life—music, media, movies. It wages war on our life through the various forms of media we are constantly plugged into. This is an ongoing problem priests talk about. For a Christian who only comes to church on Sundays we have them for two and a half or three hours if they come to Orthros. The rest of the week they are in front of a screen living a not-so-Christian life.

“One word of truth outweighs the whole world.” — Alexander Solzhenitsyn.

Orthodox Survival Course II, Lecture 5: Ecumenism Oct 23, 2025
    Show notes

The Holy Scriptures reveal that the coming of the Antichrist will be preceded by a globalization of religion—what Fr. Seraphim Rose called the "religion of the future." Understanding Ecumenism, this attempted fusion of worldliness and Christianity, is essential to heed the Lord Jesus' counsel: "Take heed that no man deceive you."

Orthodox Survival Course II, Lecture 4: UFO's Oct 02, 2025
    Show notes

This topic has resurfaced in the media continually from the 1940s to the present. What do our sure guides, the Holy Fathers, teach us about this phenomenon? In this lecture, we explore how such matters must be understood first and foremost from an Orthodox Christian perspective—one embodied in the lives of the modern saints and their lived experience of divine revelation.
