    Show notes

Pastor Andy Cass In this message, we dive into the story of Joseph’s reaction to Mary’s unexpected pregnancy and explore the different ways we handle anger. We’ll look at how Joseph’s response challenges us to embrace peace, patience, and forgiveness, even in the face of disappointment and frustration. TEXT: Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 4:18-30, James 1:19-20, Matthew 5:22, Proverbs 15:1, Ephesians 4:26-27, Hebrews 12:15 NOTES: "If you're not carful you don’t hold your anger—it holds you." Three types of anger: 1. Rage (Cain): Explosive anger that manifests in outbursts or uncontrolled behavior. 2. Contempt (Jonah): Expressed through disdain, superiority, or disrespect toward others, devaluing them. 3. Resentment (Older Brother): Anger that lingers and festers over time, often stemming from unaddressed wounds or perceived injustices. Anger that’s surrendered to the Holy Spirit can become an opportunity for growth, healing, and reconciliation. "This season invites us to shift our perspective... God calls us to embrace a vision that’s not just faithful but fruitful."

    Show notes

Pastor Andy Cass Explore the story of Peter running toward the absurdity of the empty tomb and marveling at the wonder of Jesus' resurrection. This message challenges us to move past doubt and disbelief, actively seeking the impossible renewal, restoration, and joy only God can bring. TEXT: Luke 24:6, Luke 24:9-12, John 3:3-16, Luke 24:41, Acts 4:13, Matthew 7:7 NOTES: BIG IDEA: When it comes to Jesus, the inn wouldn’t take him, and the grave couldn’t keep him. He’s bigger, He’s greater, and He’s stronger than your doubt or box. "We've created a church culture where we are permitted to struggle and wander in the far distant past but not in the dangerous present. It's our statute of limitations on wandering; it is acceptable as long as it happened a long time ago." - A.J. Swoboda "When it comes to Jesus, the inn wouldn’t take him, and the grave couldn’t keep him. He’s bigger, He’s greater, and He’s stronger than your doubt or box."

    Sunday Service // RE_ Remember // December 01, 2024 Nov 30, 2024
    Show notes

Pastor Andy Cass Join us on a transformative journey through Peter's story—a bold yet imperfect disciple who reminds us that failure is not the end but a moment for faith to grow. In this episode, explore Peter's denial of Jesus, the power of confession, and how our God-given "accent" speaks louder than our fears when shaped by truth and healing. TEXT: Matthew 26:69-75, John 13:36-38, James 5:16, Proverbs 28:13, 2 Corinthians 5:17. NOTES: Confession Has Two Sides: 01. What is true? Agreeing with God about reality, without defending yourself with lies or half-truths. 02. What is my responsibility? Taking ownership of your actions and making necessary changes. Example: Letting go of shame and regret, while committing to live in truth and pursue righteousness. BIG IDEA- The world needs to hear our God-given accent—shaped and refined by the raw, honest cries of our confession. “Fear had gripped Peter and led him to denial. Now he’s on the road of regret and rejection.” “If you want a breakthrough in your faith, you’ve got to get to the point where you are brutally honest with yourself and cry it out.” “Confession is a core issue—unless it’s dealt with, it will bleed through.” “Peter, in his regret, may have been there for a moment—but he didn’t stay there. God doesn’t want you to stay there either. He wants to set you free.” “Let go of your shame, let go of your regret, and remember Jesus is building your faith from the ground up.”

    Sunday Service // RE_ Revere // November 24, 2024 Nov 23, 2024
    Show notes

Pastor Christy Cass Explore Peter’s impulsive response at Jesus’ transfiguration in Matthew 17, revealing the need to revere Christ above all. Learn how humility and generosity in response to His glory ground us firmly in God’s will. TEXT: Mathew 17:1-9

    Sunday Service // RE_ Rebuke // November 17, 2024 Nov 16, 2024
    Show notes

Pastor Andy Cass Unpack Peter’s bold yet misguided rebuke of Jesus in Matthew 16, exploring the tension between pride and confidence. Discover how course correction from Jesus builds faith, shapes humility, and leads to a life grounded on the rock of God’s will, not a house of cards built on our own. TEXT: Matthew 16:19-26, Luke 8:4-18, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Genesis 11:1-9, 1 Peter 2:9-10, Deuteronomy 7:6 NOTES: God’s Will VS (My Will): Self-Sacrifice (Self-Preservation) Confession and Repentance (Justification Unconditional Love (Love with Excuses and Expectations Dependence on God(Self-Reliance) Humility and Servant-Heartedness(Desire for Recognition) Surrender and Trust(Control-Manipulation and Independence from God) Gratitude and Generosity(Entitlement) Identity in Christ (Value in Status) Seeking Eternal Fulfillment (Satisfaction ) Embracing Perseverance(Avoidance of Hardship) BIG IDEA: The line between pride and confidence is as thin as a playing card. "Sometimes it takes breaking in order to build it right." "If your god never disagrees with you, you might just be worshiping an idealized version of yourself." – Timothy Keller "Jesus told His disciples: Will you? Say no to self, pick up your cross, and keep following Me." "Ego clouds and disrupts everything: the planning process, the ability to take good advice, and the ability to accept constructive criticism." – Jocko Willink

    Sunday Service // RE_ Reach // November 03, 2024 Nov 03, 2024
    Show notes

Pastor Andy Cass Through the life of Peter, we unpack relatable fears, the courage to step out of comfort zones, and the power of trust—because building faith takes both reaching out and letting go. TEXT: Matthew 14:22-33, John 16:33, Acts 23:11, Matthew 14:28-31, Matthew 17:20, 2 Timothy 1:6-8 NOTES: Fear is the Enemy’s #1 Tool. Fear is both an emotion and an action that can prevent us from stepping out in faith. BIG IDEA: “You have to sink in order to swim; you have to step out to step up.” “Nothing will stop you faster than fear will.” “Do you know what Jesus says to your fear? Take courage; stop being afraid.” “If fear is a feeling and action, then joy is too.” “If there is no doubt, then it may not be faith.” “Your REACH will REACH others. Take a step out.” Leave a comment, subscribe, and share with a friend.
