Ep 115: Eating for Health vs. Eating for Weight Mar 04, 2020
    Show notes

Are you eating for health or are you eating for weight? Contrary to popular belief, they aren't the same thing. They get totally entangled because of diet culture, and in order for you to eat in a way that honors your health and shows respect to your body, it's vital that you untangle them. That's what we'll help you do in this episode!

Diets DON'T care about your health. In fact, dieting prioritizes numbers and rule-following over well-being. Dieting is all about manipulation, and it has hijacked "healthy eating". We need to reclaim healthy eating, and we'll help you learn how to find health without focusing on weight.

Ep 111: How to Strengthen Your Marriage by Healing Your Body Image - An Interview with Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife Feb 05, 2020
    Show notes

We are honored to have Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife back on the podcast! Today we're discussing how to strengthen your marriage relationship by healing your body image + improving your sense of self-worth.

We work with many women to help them overcome disordered eating patterns + negative body image. We get questions from these women who worry about their changing body and their husband's opinion of their body. They may feel shame that their body doesn't measure up to what they think their husband wants, or they allow their negative body image to interfere with their ability to have an equal partnership in marriage.

All of us have been sold the cultural lie that bodies shouldn't change or that they should look a certain way, and it's easy to feel shame when we don't fit that ideal.

But we know that it's totally possible to build a mature and positive relationship with your body, regardless of your weight, size, or appearance.

We want to help you respect + care for their body no matter your size, but we know that those efforts are often undermined if you're in an intimate relationship where you're made to feel bad about your appearance or size.

Dr. Finlayson-Fife offers her perspective on how a woman's relationship with her body influences her intimate relationship, how to set healthy boundaries in a marriage, and how to empower yourself as an equal partner in your marriage by healing your relationship with your body.

Learn more about Dr. Finlayson-Fife, her courses, and her workshops on her website at finlayson-fife.com.

Also, join us for Love What You Eat Week - a free 5-day series where we'll help you learn to love what you eat. Learn more at eatconfident.co/lovewhatyoueat and catch the daily videos on Instagram @eatconfident.co or on Facebook at Eat Confident Co.
