    Show notes

Most of us don't need to be adding things to our plate right now. In fact, taking things off your to-do list can actually help you make time for the people and experiences that really matter. When you scroll on social media, it can feel like everyone is doing more than you, but how can you look for ways to create value and fulfillment from doing less? I’ve found that taking a step back has magically expanded time and made me even more productive when I need to be in that mode. I want to challenge you this week to do less and give yourself time to connect with something or someone you love.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

    • Reflecting on spending quality time with family and friends in Wisconsin

Get What You Want By Focusing On What You Shouldn’t Do Jul 19, 2022
    Show notes

During your downtime, do you catch yourself thinking about what you should be doing instead? Chris and I are working on shifting our language around those thoughts when they creep up and soaking up this time that we have in Wisconsin with our friends and family. It can be so easy to become the thief of your own peace by constantly focusing on what you should be doing to make more money and hit bigger goals. But, it’s so important to give yourself a break and enjoy the fruits of your labor. If you don’t, then why are you even hustling in the first place?

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

    • Recognizing when you’re sabotaging your own joy and peace
    • Looking at enjoyment as a sign that you'll be able to collapse time when you tap back into work mode
    • Why making a better life is usually taking away things, not adding more to your to-do list
    • An eye-opening journaling exercise from Four Thousand Weeks that really helped us get clear on our priorities

2 Things To Immediately Make Your Life Feel Exciting And Meaningful Again Jul 14, 2022

There are two main tools that I use to lift myself up and change my mood when I’m feeling overwhelmed. I like to make sure that I have scheduled things to look forward to and that I’m prioritizing time with the community that I really want to invest in long term. I share examples of activities that you can do to take your stress levels down and create a sense of community. It’s not always easy, but these are the two things that really help me live a more balanced, present life.

I’m trying to become a master of focusing my time and energy where it serves me best, enjoying my downtime, and being present with the people that I love. I’ll always be a work in progress, but the more that I can let things go and hone in on what matters, the more I can live in alignment and reach my goals.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

    • Tips for staying present when it feels like there’s an endless to-do list
    • What Chris and I like to do when we’re feeling like our energy is being depleted
