Nebraska baseball really might not make the B1G Tournament in Omaha and that is…not good May 09, 2022

Show notes

-Nebraska went to Minnesota for a 3-game series this weekend, and lost 2 of 3. It was just the 2nd series win over anyone on the season for the Gophers

-Nebraska is now 10th in the B1G, and only the top 8 teams qualify for the B1G Tournament in Omaha. If this team, which won the conference last year, fails to even make the tourney…that’s just sad. The overall record is 19-27 and conference record is 7-11

Rich Strike wins the Kentucky Derby at 80-1 odds, proving that there’s nothing wrong with being an underdog May 09, 2022

Show notes

-The Derby was a great story, with an underdog coming from way behind during the race to make an epic comeback without anyone mentioning it until the moment it happened

-Jake seems to like underdog stories more than Sip. Maybe that’s because he’s never really experienced winning at a high level like Sip did with Nebraska in the 90s

-What’s wrong with being the underdog?

Is it good fandom or bad fandom to attend your favorite team’s sporting event when they are absolutely terrible? / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe) May 06, 2022

Show notes

-The Cincinnati Reds fell to 3-22 yesterday after a big loss to the Brewers. They’ve lost 9 straight games and have a run differential already of almost -90 through one month of the season

-They didn’t field a competitive roster going into the season and fans knew it, and it’s been proven correct so far. Is it good fandom to show up and support them no matter what, or not show up to send a statement to ownership?
