A Jacksonville Jaguars kicker didn’t even make it through one week of training camp before being cut…life comes at you fast Aug 09, 2022

Show notes

-In late July, the Jaguars cut kicker Andrew Mevis, who just 4 days into training camp, missed 3 kicks so badly that one of them hit former Dallas Cowboys coach Dave Campo on the shoulder—and he was standing nowhere near the uprights. The 2 other kicks also hit people.

-Michigan comes in at No. 6; Oklahoma at No. 9; and Wisconsin at 20th. That’s it. Iowa is the first team receiving votes, and Minnesota and Purdue are also receiving votes

Scott Frost says the starting QB is Casey Thompson’s “job to lose” for the season…are you surprised he said that already? Aug 08, 2022

Show notes

-Frost has been one to not confirm many things to media until the very last moment…but this was said with 22 days to go until Nebraska’s opening game of the season

-In recent years, such a statement might have been held off until a few days before the game to limit the chances of a QB transferring (see: Tristan Gebbia in 2018), but maybe the thought is all the QBs are on the same page with this—and that’s the hope that they continue to compete for the No. 2 job

-You know that Thompson understands pressure from a fanbase as he comes from Texas…so nothing should really be new here for him
