One Nebraska writer says one of the Huskers’ biggest issues is an offense designed on play design instead of brute force…do fans agree? Nov 01, 2022

Show notes

-The World Herald’s Sam McKewon mentioned that in his most recent article, mentioning how little Nebraska ran the ball against Illinois and that it’s a big reason why they are 6-20 against the B1G West since 2018

-How could you deny that? It’s very hard to win with Nebraska’s current offensive set-up of pray for the deep ball to connect and have the defense on the field all game. That’s not a great set-up for consistent winning

-We’ve asked this before but we ask it again: how long does it take to fortify the trenches?

Only a few hours after Auburn named a new AD, Bryan Harsin was fired as head coach….how much different are Auburn’s coaching candidates than Nebraska’s? Nov 01, 2022

Show notes

-Within about an hour of John Cohen leaving Mississippi State for Auburn, news broke that Bryan Harsin had been fired, not even through 2 full seasons at Auburn

-Names popping up at Auburn are Lane Kiffin, Deion Sanders, Dave Aranda, Mark Stoops, and others…sounds familiar to Nebraska’s search. Auburn’s probably a better job than Nebraska…by miles, though?

Mickey Joseph says in recent Sports Illustrated article that Nebraska is chasing Ohio State, not the B1G West teams…do fans believe in the Great Awakening here? Nov 01, 2022

Show notes

-We spoke to Ross Dellenger last week on the show, who wrote the article on Mickey. There were quotes about needing players, about a lack of recruiting from the previous staff, and more

-Take Mickey out of this for a second, and just ask yourself if you believe a Great Awakening is possible right now. If Illinois can do it, Nebraska can. Tennessee has more recruiting ability than Nebraska, but still—if they can become elite again, Nebraska can become respectable.

-The thing is this—do you believe a quick turnaround is possible here like Illinois/Tennessee?

We said we wouldn’t overreact either way following the Illinois game, so what is the proper reaction to what happened and what’s ahead? Oct 31, 2022

Show notes

-This season was always going to be tough to put blame on Mickey Joseph or anyone else besides Scott Frost and Erik Chinander after they were fired, but we are fans and fans expect a lot from their team

-Illinois was a better-coached team on Saturday and better overall. Nebraska had no answers once Casey Thompson left the game, which is a big concern itself

-If we promise to not overreact, what IS a fair and proper reaction to what happened on Saturday?
