Wisconsin is reportedly set to hire Shawn Eichorst as their new athletic director…what on God’s green Earth is going on? Jul 01, 2026

Show notes

-Eichorst was an abject disaster in his time in Lincoln, serving as Nebraska’s AD from 2013 to 2017 when he was fired for all his mishaps during

the football season which also led to Mike Riley’s firing when all was said and done

-Eichorst came to Nebraska from Miami (FL) where he served as AD for one year…he’s been most recently at Texas as their Deputy AD and

COO…he is from Wisconsin and does have experience in Madison…but it still seems like a strange hire for someone who failed miserably in the

B1G at Nebraska

-Also, LeBron is moving on from LA…but not retiring….could the Spurs be an option? Or the Warriors? Return to the Heat?

Athlon Sports put out their All-B1G list and the first team has just one Husker / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe) Jun 30, 2026

Show notes

-Jacory Barney was picked as Athlon Sports’ first-team punt returner…and that’s it for first teamers. Justin Evans was the only Husker

on the 2 nd team, and the 3 rd team featured Nyziah Hunter and Andrew Marshall. 4 total players in the first 3 teams.

-It’s another point that this team has to overcome a perceived lack of talent and overachieve for what feels like the first time in years.

Be thankful for Texas/Ohio State this year because beyond that---the non-conference slate has hit ‘rock bottom’ in the Big 10 Jun 30, 2026

Show notes

-The World Herald’s Sam McKewon did a great dive into the B1G’s 54 non-conference games this year, and it’s not pretty as we exist in

a world where it’s all about making the playoffs and pushing toward the least amount of losses prior to conference play as possible

-McKewon points out that there are just 14 games against Power 4 competition of the 54 non-con games of the league---Nebraska,

Indiana, Penn State, USC and Washington have zero---28 games vs. Group of 6 teams, and 12 games vs. the FCS. We’ll see you all in late

September/early October for conference play….
