Jake has a question regarding the transfer portal that he needs some answers for Dec 13, 2022

Show notes

-Jake got to thinking yesterday about how exciting (and at times, annoying) the transfer portal is. But he got to thinking that if you’re a team like Nebraska that’s had 6 straight years of no bowls, should a roster turnover be desired or is that just starting over again?

-Isn’t there part of you that feels that when a team is losing a lot but players aren’t transferring out at a high rate…that maybe they feel the school they are at is the biggest program they could possibly be at?

What is MORE important to becoming an elite team in the new NCAA: Recruiting class or Transfer Portal signings? Dec 12, 2022

Show notes

-Jake saw the question posed on Twitter yesterday and was curious about the responses. Based on what he saw, the lean was more to transfer portal signings than it was to recruiting classes

-It makes you wonder what the elite coaches and teams think about the question. If you asked Nick Saban, how would he respond to that question?

-Again, we know both are important, but what is MORE important to becoming elite of the 2?

Nebrasketball loses a close game to Purdue in OT...is there a chance this season will become much more than moral victories? Dec 12, 2022

Show notes

-Nebraska overcame a double-digit deficit in the 2nd half and forced OT in Lincoln on Saturday, before falling by 3 to Top-5 rated Purdue, 63-60

-The team sits at 6-5 now ahead of a game in KC on Saturday against Kansas State, but this continues to feel different in a good way, with optimism much higher than in years past

-Nebraska really hasn’t let the last 2 big guys they’ve played against (Trayce Jackson-Davis and Zach Edey) score a TON of points against them---they still had their stats in rebounds and blocks—but they didn’t kill the Huskers, as the 2 best post players in the league
