The college football schedule is getting messed up again, with reports that the Early Signing Period will now be in early December Feb 23, 2024

Show notes

-Per The Athletic, the early signing period is set to move to the Wednesday BEFORE conference championship Saturday…which would be December 4th

-The goal is to allow coaches to lock in their signees before the transfer portal window opens…can you imagine preparing for a conference championship and having to close a recruiting class right before it? Ridiculous.

Is it time to stop playing Power 5 teams in non-conference games? Feb 22, 2024

Show notes

-The World-Herald’s Tom Shatel talked with Matt Rhule recently and he said he would be in favor of Nebraska NOT playing Power 5 teams anymore going forward with the new additions to the B1G, and difficulty of getting to the playoff in general with the conference schedule

-Michigan certainly didn’t challenge themselves in non-conference play the last 2 years and it worked out well for them—we know Nebraska isn’t that level of team right now, but it’s worth noting

-Do you agree with Rhule’s position on it or do you selfishly still want a big non-conference game?
