The buzz for Nebraska/Creighton seems incredibly low…is that because of it being still in football season? Nov 21, 2024

Show notes

-We know Bill laments any basketball talk until at least January, but we don’t control the schedule---and Nebraska plays at Creighton in Omaha tomorrow night, regardless of our thoughts on it

-No one is really talking about it, probably because it’s the Friday before an important home game for Nebraska football…is that the only reason, though? Are people buying into the early version of this team?

How much has fans’ belief in Matt Rhule changed—if at all—over the last month? Nov 21, 2024

Show notes

-Rhule came to Lincoln and started 5-3 in his first year before losing all 4 November games and ending 5-7 with no bowl game. He started this year 5-1 and has lost 4 straight games, needing one more win to get to a bowl game

-Some fans thought 8 to 9 wins was possible this year, and after 6 games---that seemed like a reality. Then the losing streak started

-With that being said, where do fans stand in belief in Rhule? His job is not in jeopardy (you’d think) this offseason, but we’re curious where your optimism is with him going forward…

If Nebraska were to beat both Wisconsin and Iowa to end the season, how much does that salvage the year? Nov 20, 2024

Show notes

-A 5-1 start has been followed by 4 straight losses to fall to 5-5, but 2 games remain to try and get the Huskers to bowl-eligibility and beyond

-A win over Wisconsin would clinch a bowl game and leave Wisconsin needing to beat Minnesota to make a bowl, AND end a 10-game losing streak to the Badgers

-A win vs. Iowa to follow wouldn’t foil any postseason for the Hawkeyes, but would be a cherry on top for beating 2 teams that have had Nebraska’s number…what it would mean to win both?
