What exactly happened with the Raiders and star DT Christian Wilkins? Jul 31, 2025

Show notes

There’s a lot of weird stories going on as to why the Raiders decided to cut the Pro Bowl DT---some stories say he hasn’t been handling his foot injury properly and taking care of it in rehab as the Raiders asked him…

…and others say it’s because of behavior such as kissing a teammate on the head…Pete Carroll refused to comment more on it

A texter had an interesting question yesterday as it pertains to Nebraska football and talent this season.. Jul 31, 2025

Show notes

Sip has said (rightfully so) that it’s embarrassing that Nebraska hasn’t had a first-team All-American since 2011. If this team is set to potentially contend for a playoff spot, it will need to have several players play at a high level, even with a ‘gettable’ schedule

A texter yesterday asked what player on this year’s Husker roster has the BEST chance of being a first-team All-American?

We’ll hear from Dana Holgorsen, Daikiel Shorts and a few players after practice today…what are the biggest questions for that group? Jul 31, 2025

Show notes

Shorts leads a WR unit that looks pretty solid on paper for the stats coming in from Dane Key, Nyziah Hunter and Jacory Barney among others…the cabinet is definitely not bare there

What helps separate a WRs coach from others who have been here before? What can he do to make Jacory Barney excel even more than he did in his freshman year? In terms of what could be asked today…how does everyone mesh together in a Holgorsen offense? How will scoring in the red zone look different than it has in recent years?

An On3 writer says the hottest seats in college football this year reside in the SEC for head coaches Jul 31, 2025

Only one B1G coach made his Top 8 of hot seats---Maryland’s Mike Locksley---all is well in the league?

Dana Holgorsen historically has had top 25 offenses everywhere he’s been in college football…can this Nebraska team achieve that type of success? Jul 31, 2025

Show notes

Sip mentioned yesterday on the airwaves---Holgorsen has been a head coach or OC for 19 seasons and has had his teams rank in the Top 25 of total offense 14 times, and in the Top 25 of scoring 12 times—including 7 times in the Top 10

As pointed out by Sean Callahan on the show yesterday, he’s also never coached a full year in the B1G, which historically has better defenses than the conferences that Holgorsen has coached in. How much more difficult is it the achieve that stat in this league and is it possible with the talent on the offense?
