The BTN Bus Tour came through Lincoln on Friday, and the group liked what they saw….including some interesting comments from Jake Butt Aug 04, 2025

Show notes

Butt, a former Michigan star tight end, commented on Twitter that winning close games has been a huge issue for Nebraska in previous seasons, but likes what he sees in practice---from little things like always handing the ball to the ref to save game clock, and just specifically focusing on situational football all the way through practice

The crew didn’t seem worried about Nebraska’s DL, and raved about the potential of Nebraska’s offense…they also pointed out that Matt Rhule wanted Dana Holgorsen as OC prior to last season but he wasn’t ready yet for that role after being fired

For those who roll their eyes at comments about the Joe Moore Award from Rocco Spindler…doesn’t it mean more from a guy who was just part of 2 straight years of teams that were finalists for the award? Aug 04, 2025

Show notes

Spindler, the Notre Dame transfer, made waves this week when he said this Nebraska offensive line has the potential to win the Joe Moore Award for the nation’s best o-line

Lots of fans rolled their eyes at the comment, but he’s from a school that had great o-line play for 2 straight years…why would he not portray what he actually thinks is possible from what he’s seen?

Sip and Jake were both at the 1890 Nebraska football practice on Saturday…what observations did they have? Aug 04, 2025

Show notes

There was a lot to watch in the nearly 2.5 hours of practice availability on a beautiful weather night at Memorial Stadium…but some highlights were seeing Teddy Prochazka work as the No. 1 RT for all of practice, with Elijah Pritchett as the LT…

Dane Key didn’t practice for Nebraska, but the WR group looked good with Jacory Barney and Nyziah Hunter…young players like Cortez Mills, Quinn Clark and Keelan Smith looked solid…and don’t forget TEs and RB updates…

It’s never too early to scout an opponent---and a familiar question of old comes into question regarding Cincinnati Aug 01, 2025

Show notes

QB Brendan Sorsby was the only player in the country to have a 425 yard passing game and 125 yard rushing game last year, and he was one of 4 players in the country with 2,800 pass yards, 18 passing TDs and 9 rushing TDs last year (he had 447 rush yards on the year)

The question is this: how does a defense best stop a rushing QB? Sorsby last year had 4 games with 10+ carries and 5 games of 45+ yards rushing. Not the craziest of stats but capable…what’s the key to stopping that defensively?
