DWSC LIVE: With Eme Essien Dec 28, 2022

Show notes

The Drunk Women are casting their minds back to the fantastic double bill of shows they did in Leeds back in October 2022 and now invite you on that trip down memory lane too.

Their first amazing guest was comedian Eme Essien, who opens the show with a story which carries some healthy lessons in fraud prevention, she learnt them for us, on more than one occasion.

The team then get involved in a howling crime case which probably couldn't happen in modern day Norwich and hear from a member of the audience, who would rather DIE than spill one drop of wine - we always find our tribe.

DWSC LIVE: With Arabella Weir Dec 21, 2022

Show notes

HE'S BEEN! Arabella gets things going with a story from her days as a drama student, when it was practically EXPECTED to be in bed until at least the afternoon.

The gang then solve a case which could provide some fun ideas of New Years' health resolutions, as long as someone can help you errmmm 'administer' the application.

Finally we get to hear from a member of the audience who is probably the nicest person we've met in 2022.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!

DWSC LIVE: With Harriet Dyer Dec 14, 2022

Show notes

We're back in Liverpool for the second show of a lively double bill, and joining Catie, Taylor and Hannah on the stage after an adventurous interval is the incredible, comedian Harriet Dyer!

As well as having one of the very best plans for vengeance you would have EVER heard, Harriet also entertains us with a crime which isn't dissimilar to common nightmare, but at least she can laugh at it now!

The gang then get to grips with crime involving an unscrupulous landlord, hard to believe such a thing exists, I know!

Then, lastly we hear from a member of the audience who may be familiar to some, although this time her story doesn't take place in Centre Parcs...

DWSC LIVE: With Nina Gilligan Dec 07, 2022

Show notes

Now that Men's Month is over for another year, Taylor, Hannah and Catie are proud to present the fruits of their fantastic tour of live shows around the UK, first-up we head to Liverpool, a city where the inhabitants know how to have a good time!

Completing the team of liver birds for this incredible show is the hilarious comedian, Nina Gilligan.

Nina is no stranger to law enforcement, even if she can be rather overzealous in her peacekeeping efforts, as strangers and family alike quickly learn.

We then look into a crime committed against a star of the silver screen, although it's not like they were able to tell anyone about it.

And finally, we get to hear from TWO members of the audience with crimes that need solving, although we're not sure the gang managed to help, they surely didn't make it worse.

Ps- The boat trip enjoyed by Taylor on the Mersey WAS a cruise, producer Amanda has the ticket stub to prove it! #justicefortaylor

MEN'S MONTH: Ed Byrne Nov 30, 2022

Show notes

It's been another epic DWSC Men's Month, not only because we had five, count them FIVE men grace the show this year, but also because we welcomed some incredible guys and this week's incredible guy is kung-fu king and comedian Ed Byrne!

Ed starts us off with some tales of criminal activity that have blighted his life, although it would also appear that he could set-up shop as a swag-bag supplier as a side hustle.

The team then head to Tring to solve this week's case - and as we soon learn, nothing good ever happens in Tring!

We then hear from a listener who gets some tough love from the team... which is also the name of your sex tape.

Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

MEN'S MONTH: With Mikey Day Nov 23, 2022

Show notes

The gang are cracking-on with Men's Month and it's time to go stateside, as this week's guest is none-other than star of 'Saturday Night Live' and 'Is it Cake?'...it's Mikey Day!

Mikey proved to be an invaluable member of the force with the kind of detective skills worthy of NYPD, although his night spent in the slammer as a youth might mean his application is null and void - you'll have to listen to find out why Mikey did time inside and why he kept a Spiderman outfit in his car.

The team then un-pick a right royal farce worthy of its own Netflix special, with a cast of players from just about every spectrum of life that you can imagine.

We finally hear from a listener, who may be the victim or perpetrator of criminal activity, either way they are certainly no hero in a half shell.

MEN'S MONTH: With Jamie Morton Nov 16, 2022

Show notes

Men's Month 2022 marches on and this episode saw podcast royalty being welcomed to the force, when Jamie Morton from the world-wide smash hit show 'My Dad Wrote a Porno' donned his detective hat and agreed to solve some true crime with us.

Jamie kicked-off proceedings with a story from his youth which saw a house-hold name come to his rescue, in fact without this sporting legend, Jamie might not have been here to tell this tale at all!

The team then digs deep into a case which brings up some interesting questions of logistics in the afterlife and how long it would take before one was just bored of being dead.

And all of this also throws-up a fantastic story of what happened when Jamie met Liz Truss - who was at some point in her 44-day stint as British PM when this episode was recorded - the meeting goes pretty much as you would imagine.

We then round it all off with a delightful listener crime which will make you want to not only keep your toothbrush in a cupboard, but also under lock and key.

As you can hear, the team had tremendous fun recording this episode, so much fun that there was a fun induced 'incident' which had to be edited out, we did however decide to share it on our Patreon, so if your in any way curious, you can sign up for here:

MEN'S MONTH: With Nick Helm Nov 09, 2022

Show notes

The Men's Month parade continues, as Taylor, Catie and Hannah welcome 'friend of the pod' comedian Nick Helm to the force!

Nick starts proceedings by sharing the time he encountered a criminal act and now as a result at least knows what he will say in such circumstances...and more importantly what pitch the word will come out.

The team then get their hands dirty with a story which you may want to not accompany with a chocolate cake, in fact it's changed Nick forever, we really should check on him.

Then, finally we hear from a listener, who has been rabbiting on about a case for years, let's hope the gang can finally solve it!

MEN'S MONTH: With Bilal Zafar Nov 02, 2022

Show notes

It's that time again, yes, it's the Drunk Women Solving Crime MEN'S MONTH!

And November 2022 has FIVE Wednesdays, so we have FIVE, yes count them, FIVE men to add to the DWSC force, and kicking things off for this epic season is the Brillant comic Bilal Zafar!

We recorded with Bilal waaaaay back in the heady days of the Edinburgh Fringe, where he was also performing is incredible show 'Care'.

Bilal started things off with a story of childhood theft, which may or may not have put his own parents in the frame, and then joined the rest of the crew in solving a crime which has been a plot device in a legendary comedy film and is also a lesson in how to do your crimeing 'right'.

As always, we finish the show by hearing from a member of the audience, this one however got the memo wrong and CONFESSED to a crime she perpetrated that day...we'll let it slide this once, but guys, it's NOT what we asked ...she still got the prosecco though - CHEERS!

Fanny Sidney & The Crime of Grace Oct 26, 2022

Show notes

Oh la la, the Drunk Women have gone to Paris! Well, they SAW some of Paris from the back of the zoom of this week's fantastic guest, the star of ' Call My Agent', actor, Fanny Sidney!

Although this was recorded remotely, the team still got to do this in front of an audience, as they decided to invite their lovely Patreons along for the ride too, with the added treat of the gorgeous Parisian backdrop also providing a contrast to the criminal activity the team discussed.

Fanny started-off proceedings with a tale of a scammer who sure knew how to play the long game before the gang discussed a notorious cold case which happened to inspire none-other than Margret Atwood to write a book about it.

And, as we were joined by a live audience, it was only right that we should hear from one of them at the end with their own true crime story, and it turns-out the Isle of Wight is a hotbed of criminal pursuits. Hannah was delighted!
