DWSC LIVE: With Jo Caulfield Sep 20, 2023
    Show notes

On this week's episode, we put ourselves in the shoes of our guest Jo Caulfield, as the brilliant comedian opens the show with an audacious tale of bare faced cheek, but at least the rest of the panel were able to conSOLE her in her hour of need.

As this was recorded in the latter part of the DWSC sold-out Edinburgh run, the part of Hannah is being played by the lovely Ruth Bratt, as she stepped-in to assist Taylor and Catie to help solve a crime which involves some of the most hat stand characters you would have met in a while.

Finally we hear from a member of the audience who presents a family mystery for the gang to solve... at least they didn't make it worse!

DWSC LIVE: With Sooz Kempner Sep 13, 2023
    Show notes

The Drunk Women are still in Edinburgh for this episode, well two of them are, as poor, covid struck Hannah is still being played by the wonderful Ruth Bratt!

Thanks to Ruth, the show was able to go on, as she joined the force alongside Taylor and Catie to welcome this week's guest, comedian Sooz Kempner!

Sooz opens the show with the time she was the meat in a crime sandwich - and a solid lesson in living one's best life, even if you've only got £40 left in the bank.

The team then drape themselves over a criminal tale, involving one of the world's most notorious literary figures.

We finally hear from a member of the audience in which the perpetrator really does take the p*ss...

DWSC LIVE: With Susie McCabe Sep 06, 2023
    Show notes

This episode marks the midway point of this year’s incredible DWSC Edinburgh Fringe shows, but the elation of the sell-out run was severely tempered when our very own detective Hannah 'Butt Stuff' George had to return home, after contracting Covid!

But, as much of a disaster as this was, the show MUST go on, and so, with Hannah's blessing, we ordained a new member of the force, who carried her new burden with aplomb - it's the brilliant, actor, comedian, improvisor, -and now crime solver extraordinaire - Ruth Bratt!

The team can't thank Ruth enough for coming on board for the next few eps (and one in Men's Month) and we know you'll love her too (**Hannah who?).

Also, making the absence of our favourite Titanic obsessive a little easier, is this week's remarkable guest, the hilarious, Susie McCabe!

Susie shares a crime story with us from her own misspent youth, where she was clearly in no fit state to dictate a photofit.

The team then solve a crime ‘witch’ would make them worthy of joining any coven in the land, and lastly we hear from a member of the audience, who confirms all our suspicions about archaeologists are definitely true.

**Clearly a joke, there is a Hannah shaped hole in all the episodes she's not in - and being in the pregnant state she is at the time of

writing, that hole is of considerable size.

DWSC LIVE: With Mhairi Black Aug 30, 2023
    Show notes

We're back in Edinburgh for another fantastic episode of DWSC from their amazing sell-out run at the Fringe!

Today's packed audience were in for a treat - and now, so are you, dear listener, as the gang welcomes their first member of parliament as guest, with Scottish MP, Mhairi Black!

Mhairi opens the show with a criminal escapade, which would have taken a very different turn if she'd just had a glass of water.

The team of detectives then 'Copp' hold of a tale which is 'Contancely' fascinating and involves one of the first female law enforcers, and a silky smooth criminal.

We then hear from a member of the audience who certainly shouldn't have been the butt of this particular crime!

DWSC LIVE: With Bridget Christie Aug 23, 2023
    Show notes

The Drunk Women continue their Edinburgh odyssey, as they bring to you this gem recorded at the Fringe in 2023, with the incredible Bridget Christie!

Bridget opens the show with a glamorous tale, which could easily be a storyline from Sex and the City ... she might also be a member of a gang involving ferrets, no one is really sure.

The team then get into a lather over this week's case, before a member of the audience *probably solved where the term 'many happy returns' comes from....

Guilty Feminists Solving Podcasts Aug 18, 2023
    Show notes

Hands-up who loves a comedy podcast...all of you? We'll you're in the right place and in for a treat, as two of the UK's funniest shows collide to talk about some amazing comedy offerings available on Audible.

The teams behind The Guilty Feminist and Drunk Women Solving Crime, present 'Guilty Feminists Solving Podcasts'.

Deborah Francis White, joins Hannah George, Catie Wilkins, and Taylor Glenn to swap some of the fantastic original podcasts they've been listening to on Audible, which includes new shows like Lolly Adefope: Fanmail, a hilarious take on fame and being famous, plus returning series such as the riotous 'Kurupt FM' and brilliant extended podcast of the Alan Davis' TV show 'As Yet Untitled'.

The gang also discusses the last time they 'mashed-up' at the London Podcast Festival, all the way back in 2019... a night none of them can remember, mainly due to the on-stage drinks trolley.

Thanks so much to Audible for allowing these titans of the podcast world to get together again, and for the huge library of comedy shows to listen to!

DWSC LIVE: With Pippa Evans Aug 16, 2023
    Show notes

Joining the Drunk Women on the second show of their Edinburgh Fringe run, was not only a sold out audience, but also the legendary comedian, author and improviser, Pippa Evans.

Pippa started off the night with a tale of tables and punches flying, a police caution and the ruining of Christmas ... not something you'd associate with the UK city of Bath.

All of this sets us up nicely to hear about the dodgy dealings of breakfast cereal copyright law, which is not as dry as it sounds, even if it does involve Shredded Wheat.

We then have a DWSC first, as the audience crime is told by a duo, who were exemplary at sharing the same microphone and thoroughly earned their prize of a bottle of Cava!

DWSC LIVE: With Catherine Bohart Aug 09, 2023
    Show notes

The Drunk Women are back in Edinburgh and already storming their Fringe run with sell out shows and incredible guests, and what a way to kick things off, as the team welcomes back the wonderful comedian Catherine Bohart!

Regular listeners may remember hearing Catherine's first DWSC appearance, which was recorded online, in the dark days of lockdown, so what a joy to be able to see her in the flesh and in front of such a lovely audience.

Catherine (luckily) has had more than one experience with crime, and so shares a story in which the perpetrators involved are far from conservative in their criminality. The gang then get their heads around a tale, in which we learn an awful lot about what one can do with the 'blunt' end of an axe, and that picking strawberries can prove to be a deadly pursuit.

To round things off, we hear from a member of the audience, who was shook by the misdemeanours of mysterious neighbours ... although Catherine still isn't convinced of the criminal credentials of the story.

Strawpedo & Sweats with Chloe Petts Aug 02, 2023
    Show notes

The gals are back in the studio for this rip roaring edition of Drunk Women Solving Crime, most of the rip, and a good deal of the roar, being supplied by this week's sublime guest, comedian Chloe Petts!

Although this was recorded on the sweatiest day on record (probably) in London Town, that didn't stop Chloe from stawpedoing a Smirnoff Ice right before we pressed record ... no mean feat considering we didn't really have a straw.

Chloe was then revved-up enough to share with us a biting tale of childhood forensics and a teacher who surely missed their vocation in law enforcement?

We then get involved with a story which stinks in more ways than one, before solving a crime which left a listener feeling more than a little short changed.

DWSC LIVE: With Jordan Gray Jul 26, 2023
    Show notes

Hooray! It's another fantastic DWSC residency show, featuring the fabulous comedian, Jordan Gray... AND more than a few mentions of the wonderful audience member from the last episode (featuring Rachel Fairborn), the one and only Bram!

If you listen to the episodes in order, then you'll know that Bram provided last week's audience crime, and this week's lovely audience member, and their crime, is just as legendary and also perhaps the best 'sorry I'm late for school' excuse EVER!

As always though, our guest kicks things off and it would appear school days trauma is a running theme, as Jordan shares the time she was victim of a childhood sting, which we wouldn't be surprised if it still stung today TBH.

This week's main case gives us some insight about what it was like to be the first female detective on the force, and you'll be surprised to hear that she wasn't given an easy ride by her male colleagues I know, weird!
