Today: A new take on the business of beer. Going off of the growing beer-out-of-a-truck business model, TapTruck2State is bringing classic, collectible trucks to the mobile beer business. Starting with a 1 of 5 prohibition-style truck, Mike and his partner and coworker, Mr. Pond, grew this business from scratch all while learning every bit of it as they went. Mike talks about how he came to Augusta for a job that soon dissappeared, which set him on a track to building, and innovating, his dream business.

This week, I talk about Augusta Tech's new Business Incubator for Broad Street, I talk about the new businesses coming to (and leaving) Washington Road, the coffee shops - plural! - coming to the CSRA, and some news about Pedal Pubs that might be coming to our downtown.

Today: We continue our local music spotlight series with the youngest band to date to be on the show: Estimated Principles. These guys are talented! They started, not by learning covers, but by writing their own music. And now, after some local shows and some shows in Atlanta, they've released their first album. Check them out at venues like Southbound, any all-ages venues, and maybe even some parking lots near you.

Today: Ramiro Galvan, the co-founder of El Rey (x2) and Munchies Lab. Ramiro talks to us about how he and his family, immigrants from Mexico, came to find themselves in Augusta and how he worked his way from being a dishwasher to being an owner of multiple restaurants that people now can't get enough of. Ramiro seems kind of like a hidden gem, because not only does he have 3 restaurants in operation, but he has more plans for Augusta, and all of his plans come from wanting to grow his city. Oh yeah, and something and penis shaped waffles.

Today: We highlight a local nonprofit: the My Why Foundation. We talk to founder John Travis and enthusiastic supporter Chris Willox about how the nonprofit came to be and how they try to accomplish their mission: to help close the wealth gap and get people invested in their futures - literally. They're currently providing classes that teach people how to get started with investing AND they're giving away free money to the people that do so! Not only that, but they are also working to improve our school curriculums to promote financial literacy.
