    Derray Ward, born July 25th, 1988, better known by his stage name MrNewz, is a rapper/song writer. Ward was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He started writing poetry in grade school. Later he decided to try something new, turning one of his poems into a rap song. He quickly grew attached. Regardless of the genre he always loved music from: Blues to Jazz to Rock. He started writing music at the age of 12 but only for the fun of it. He started off “freestyling” at local parties and at school during passing time. He would rap about anything you pointed to or called out. People grew to like him very much. They started asking him when was he going to record a cd or if he was going to become a rapper. He brushed off the questions without thinking about them. Then one day he thought to himself, hey why not! With the lacking of money and materials, he could not afford studio time. So he asked his teacher to borrow a tape recorder. That’s where it all began! He would stay up all nigh

    Ten Hutt Tha Movement was inspired by the events in Ferguson, Madison, Baltimore, McKinney, TX and South Carolina as well as the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

    Versitale Records and Northside Hustlaz Clic was created in January 1994 in North Minneapolis by Lloyd J. Rhoden. NSHC consist of five members whereas DEPZ has four, (which three are pictured above). Three of the members from NSHC makeup DEPZ. The members of DEPZ include: Trey80, Philthy Money, Dolla Trill and Zeakey On The Beat! The genre of music for these two groups are Rap and R&B.

    Dysfunctional Mariachi style of music is a beautiful blend of the greatest genres of music.. In the past year they have redesigned their style of music. Even though Rock is a part of their main sound, they also expanded into different new genres, including World/Gypsy, Alternative, Rap, Spanish rhythms, and some of that down home Chicago Blues.

    Each song has it's own unique sound but still retains its Dysfunctional Mariachi identity with their powerful,distinct,

    J Mocha is an urban Hip Hop & R&B artist with a little soul. Recently in an interview with Sound Initiative’s instructor Michele Thomas J Mocha stated that “I honestly couldn’t see myself doing anything else but music.

    By the age of four he was walking around the house carrying his boom box singing every song that came on to the radio. Growing up in a rough neighborhood on the east side of the city, it was easy to be influenced and lead in the wrong direction but one of his favorite quotes “The first step towards success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself” by Mark Caine helped him become one of the chosen ones to make it out. Raised in both places Pine Bluff, AR and Chicago, IL he had a different outlook on life. Initially influenced by early-1990s urban Hip Hop, R&B and Soul, he progressed rapidly while discovering another talent which was dance.     KDee (born Sheraz Mohammed, July 5th, 1991) is a Trinidadian Reggae/Dancehall Soca deejay.

    He was born at San Fernando General Hospital, and is one of three children. Initially from La Romain, he was raised in the San Fernando district. Sheraz attended TML Primary School where he left to the United States before writing common entrance to further his education at the age of ten. Indomitable to further his studies in America, he attended James M. Kieran Junior High School for Pre Engineering. Furthermore he completed his Diploma at Samuel Gompers Vocational and Technical High School. After taking a year beak from studies, KDee decided to enroll in ASA The College for Excellence where he received his Associates in Occupational Studies Degree for Network Administration and Security.

    Sheraz alias KDee was a naturalist of music at a tender age, he was exposed to a wide variety of genres from family members being that his father and sister were both singers in the Republic of Trinidad

    On September 17, 1967 in the crime-ridden and drug infested ghettoes of the Bronx and Harlem, a gift from God was delivered: Malik Yoba. No silver spoon, white picket fence, house on the hills, or any type of relief during his early years of childhood—the streets of NYC in the 60s and 70s were vicious and only the strong survived. By the age of fifteen, he had cheated death when a bullet was lodged in his neck. The bullet was removed and Malik Yoba’s journey was just getting started. Labeled as a “misunderstood child” during his early years, he possessed an unusual compassion for inner-city youths and categorized many as the victims of widely held racial and social misperceptions.     The first original blind hiphop entertainer/CEO BlindthuG the founder of Night Vizion Entertainment, his alias Franky Vizions.

    Born in Chicago Illinois on April 14 1975, Frankie Aldridge was born with an eye disease. He lost his right eye sight at 12. 3 years later at 15, his left eye went out while reading to the class in high school. From the result of going blind, he sat in his room for 2 years listening to rappers like Too Short, Eazy-E, 2Pac, and Ice-T. Finally at 17, his left eye came back. It was then he noticed his passion for music. He returned to high school only to get arrested for marijuana possession, auto theft, and gang activity. After dropping out of high school at 19, Frankie recorded his first demo in 1995. As a result of a street brawl, he found himself blind again at 25. Leaving the hospital blind, instead of home, he told his friend to take him straight to the studio, blindthug refuses to not let his rap talent be heard.
