One Musician’s Vision, Vibe, and Victory

    ANTHONY GRANDVILLE

"I see lyrics in my mind... as if they were a movie." - A. Grandville

In ancient cultures, the ‘vision quest’ was a ritual widely used to visualize life goals - all while in a deep, trance-like state. In much the same way, Anthony Grandville has been on a creative quest for over two decades. Anthony uses a rare gift he’s been given called eidetic (or “photographic memory”) to envision and conquer his artistic goals.

Anthony explains, "I see lyrics in my mind as if they were a movie." Over the years, using this method, Grandville has tamed his muses to evolve into a successful singer, songwriter, and BMI affiliated publisher and actor. What follows is the story of one musician's vision, vibe, and victory.

Anthony grew up in rural Mississippi and recognized his gift in the earliest years of elementary school. One day, after watching a musical filmstrip in class, he realized he could perform i

Warith Rahim Muhammed aka ' War '

The tough streets of Oakland's bay area is the rich backdrop which sets the tone and script for the artist known as “War”. After relocating to the Midwest, his style in the urban art of hip hop came to full form. The combination of his unique lyrical style and focus on science - mixed with social and political relevance taps listeners with music that he calls “God's Music”. War also flips the letters in his name around in his alias to call his production company Raw Hit Entertainment. As his career has gained momentum, he began opening for such acts as Ginuwine and Boyz ll Men, as well as being in The Source Magazine's Unsigned Hype Hip Hop Artist Showcase. Using blazing hot music from his Grammy nominated production team, wrapped around smart sharp lyrical content, War's new project called “ War's Elements “ adds a different twist to the current hip hop establishment. War's delivery elevates the music far beyond the noisy, busy hip hop sound. K Squ

EAE RADIO INTERVIEW SPOTLIGHT W/SNAKE TAE HOSTED BY NOEZ NEWTON Dec 12, 2015
    Show notes

I grew up in Chicago's Southside in Englewood area, but I was born in Los Angeles CA. I've wrote a lot of poems as a kid and always loved music. I started writing music after poetry in 2008-2009 and mostly freestyling with my family and friends mostly my whole life. I started record me and my people on YouTube. I have my first freestyle on there, my first rap, first video and everything. I wasn't in the studio but I wrote for years. Only people that knew and heard was my family and friends. I felt I wasn't ready to be heard yet. So I just kept writing and my life, struggles, pain, goals, passion, frustration, happiness, my son, my family, the streets, my people, and experiences etc became my music in my years of living. Then I learned and mastered myself and felt it was time now to let the world see, feel and relate to me and my music. But my biggest reason is because of my family my people and my lil brother who died is why I became a artist and push it to the LIMIT! I came up with th

Slikfroze is in the Westend which is called "the west in is the best in" that's what they rep and hold down. All Slikfroze knows is to wait and be patient knowing that you can't rush a dream, it'll come to you sooner than you think if you just keep it pushing. Flickfroze's mind is on just that, "keeping it pushing", positive vibes only, positive everything, no negative! Slikfroze is all about moving forward. Slikfroze believes team work makes the dream work. They also have an online clothing store with hats, t-shirts, and sweat shirts, but the Slikfroze movement is more about the music!

    Interview w/Rising Indie Artist J-oH hosted by Qween$Ching Nov 22, 2015
    Show notes

The youngest of four siblings, J-oH was born December 29, 1984 in Washington DC. J-oH did not grow up in the ideal situation but his mother made the best of it and worked several jobs to support the family. His father played a role in the beginning but by the age of 4 he began to fade away. J-oH’s mother was his world and was always there to believe in him. Motown became J-oH’s life and R&B became his sprit. He grew up listening to classical, Motown, rock and soft rock, as well as Hip Hop. When his mom passed in November of 1993, when J-oH was 9 years old his father attempted to re-enter his life with no success.

J-oH knew that music was his future when he first heard Boogiemonsters’ “Recognized Thresholds of Negative Stress”. To him music was his means to escape and vent about his struggles and what was going on in his life at the moment. J-oH’s first recorded song was a compilation of tracks inspired by his family. It was from this point on that J-oH never put down the pen. Throug
