Episode 283: Worn Wanderers Mar 16, 2023

Show notes

Join Frank and Peter for a first look at a game coming shortly to Kickstarter, Worn Wanderers, on 23rd March. Cleromancy Games were kind enough to share a prototype with us via Tabletop Simulator, so we've tried out the game and we introduce you to it and talk about what we enjoyed about trying it. You can also join their VIP pin club here. Thanks Cleromancy!

Episode 280: Think on your Feet XXXIX Feb 09, 2023

Show notes

CONTENT WARNING: this is a face-check playthrough, so it may contain shocking content.

Join Frank for Think on your Feet XXXIX, in which Amanda Sharpe continues her digital journey in Dark Matter, a fan-made campaign for Arkham Horror: The Card Game.

In Think on your Feet episodes, a live play series, I endeavour not to edit much at all. Sometimes I cut some shuffling sounds or abbreviate some of my longer pauses (a chap's got to think!), but otherwise, it's uncut, unaltered and meant to feel like you're with me at the table. There may be mistakes and misplays, but hopefully some successes too.

0.00 intro / story so far / content warning
2.50 story text and setup
7.40 agenda + act + locations
9.25 opening hand and ancestral knowledge
10.54 gameplay begins
24.55 I've not quite understood the bottomless pit
47.30 I get my maths wrong: I'm 5+1+3 so 9 vs 4 but draw a -5 and say I've failed. Given I miss out on a secret and a card, I feel I've come out of that worse, so... there we go!

Episode 279: Concealed Jan 26, 2023

Show notes

Join Frank and Peter for a discussion of a new keyword introduced in The Scarlet Keys Campaign Expansion (for players), Concealed X. What does it do, why does it matter, how do you handle it? We avoid scenario-specific spoilers and specific enemy spoilers in the main, flagging up the two times we mention early-campaign things. Otherwise it's spoiler-free and all about the mechanics.
