Week 1 Preview 9-10-20 Sep 10, 2020

Show notes

Injury questions face Mike Evans and Kenny Golladay. RB questions emanate from the Jacksonville and Washington offenses. Do we fear the 2019 home-road splits for Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper? Do we roll with Aaron Rodgers out of the gate in a place that has been unkind? And where might you find sneaky offensive upside in Week 1? We've got real games for the first time in months, so let's break 'em down.

Check out our full Week 1 rankings and answer any lingering questions with the Who Should I Start tool.

Auction Roundtable 8-31-20 Aug 31, 2020

Show notes

A fantasy football auction adds layers of strategy on top of your average draft. We already posted our annual Auction Strategy Guide. For this show, though, we imported a couple of auction veterans as guests. Drew Davenport provides auction content for Footballguys and his YouTube channel, The Auction Brief. Dr. Jeff Budoff contributes injury analysis at Rotoviz and also did a 2-part auction-strategy podcast last August. They joined Jared and Matt for a discussion on all aspects of fantasy auctions, including specific players to target this year.

DS Invitational Recap 8-16-20 Aug 17, 2020

Show notes

If you paid any attention to the recent Draft Sharks Invitational drafts, then you saw 60 sharp, experienced fantasy football players battle for a $2,000 top prize. The superflex, TE-premium, best-ball format -- on top of the tournament aspect -- left lots of room for varying strategies. And we saw competitors take very different approaches. We checked in afterward with several drafters who differed most in their approaches. These interviews include a large-tourney champ, a psychology grad who tries to get in your head during a draft, an extreme "zero-RB" approach and a game-theory instructor. It's an interesting group.

Here's the rundown:

Will Mike Beers ever take a RB? ... 1:23

Mike Oliva knows what you're thinking before you do ... 15:08

Footballguys champ Abib Agbetoba gets QBs early ... 32:59

Mark Garcia would rather wait for his QBs ... 56:07

NFC West Preview 8-13-20 Aug 14, 2020

Show notes

You're not drafting Tyler Lockett early enough. You're probably not paying enough attention to some young 49ers wideouts. And you just might be overvaluing some big-name Cardinals. The final division in our previous series hits on all that plus much more ... including the Rams' post-Todd Gurley, post-Brandin Cooks offense.

Here's the rundown:

Arizona Cardinals ... 1:34

Los Angeles Rams ... 19:26

San Francisco 49ers ... 35:00

Seattle Seahawks ... 48:55
