Richard David Feinman, PhD, is a professor of cell biology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he has been a pioneer in incorporating nutrition into the biochemistry curriculum. A graduate of the University of Rochester and the University of Oregon, Dr. Feinman has published numerous scientific and popular papers. Dr. Feinman is the founder and former coeditor-in-chief (2004–2009) of the journal Nutrition & Metabolism. He's currently researching the application of ketogenic diets to cancer. He is the principal author of the 26-author comprehensive review "Dietary carbohydrate restriction as the first approach in diabetes management: Critical review and evidence base." Bruce Willke is a 33 year old software engineer and musician living in Maryland. He is married and the father of 4. After major issues with ulcerative colitis, his colon was removed and he now lives with an ostomy which gives him a unique perspective on which foods make it to the colon and causes the real problems.
